In Manish Malhotra
Sridevi took in the Mijwan fashion show on Sunday evening wearing a satin silk sari by Manish Malhotra. As much as I love lilac color on her, all my love was lost at the cape blouse. I just couldn’t bring myself to like it. Maybe a different color or a shorter length and I would’ve warmed up to it.
Did you like her here?

why wud she bother with this what ever it is, yuck
If saree had feelings..it would have cried buckets looking at this :(
Ha ha , sums up this lunacy so well
There’s an experiment gone wrong…and then Sri decides to wear it!
I’m curious, do celebrities wear their own clothes when attending a designer’s show or does the designer give them an outfit for the event?
Manish Malhotra’s designs seems to be going from bad to worse. Either he is outsourcing and getting someone junior to design for him or he has lost his panache. Either ways this needs to stop.
+100
Really, I think its time for MM to hang up those scissors. Every one of the outfits seem designed to make the gorgeous women wearing them look dowdy and dumpy and timewarped into the eighties. What are these cheap shiny china-silk fabrics that he’s using?! This one here is the worst offense. It is incredible hard to make Sri look bad, but here’s the towering genius of the designer- he has managed to make her look awful, uncomfortable and wondering if her loyalty to him is misplaced.
Agree! Travesty maybe a strong word to use in this context but there is no other word to describe this collection, not just this outfit.
The favouritism this brand shows to Sridevi (and other actresses) and vice versa is purely based on class and social status. Sridevi has the power to influence the masses and can easily support beautiful outfits from lesser know brands. They could help each other out!
Ew… it’s a wthey.
Now that’s where my tent went…..
When you are somebody to pull just the right strings, you can talk shit,do shit and look shit and still get away with it.This show is the perfect example.Hara-kiri in the name of fashion.
It’s easy to miss the make up given the outfit – but it’s the best I’ve seen lilac lip colour done. Note to L’Oreal!
agree completely
Ugh that shiny material, and that shapeless cape thingy. The guy needs to take a looong vacay and then maybe retire before he uglifies any more of our lovely women.
MM has achieved what would be impossible for other designers i.e. to design such horrid sari that even sri cannot make it work, sri who generally looks very elegant in sari’s.
That cape blouse looks as though fabric matching the saree was used to cover an arm brace for a wedding.
Yikes !! Wow – each adn every outfit on this red carpet was a disaster.
This outfit is a terrible eyesore. Time for MM to rethink what he is doing.
Hard to make Sridevi look bad in a saree but MM did it this time! Also doesn’t she own a mirror?
Absolutely ridiculous! What is this cape blouse?
+1000 to every comment up there^ MM is outdoing his own creations not in a good way…this one is by far the worst.
Is MM single handedly bringing china silk back in fashion? Pretty much everyone was draped in yards of shiny fabric, specially Ms. Sridevi.
Just plain fugly
I am not a MM fan and my designing abilities are pretty bad; but I can guarantee you that even I can do better than this saree. Disappointed that Sri decided to wear this piece.
Ugh
She carries this very bizarre outfit off with grace. Kudos to her.
She looks lovely, inspite of the outfit. I mean imagine this on someone else and they could be a total train wreck
This is the most bizarre outfit I have seen on Sridevi. She is know to can make even the ridiculous outfits work for her; this particular one, however, seems to be too much for her to handle either. I like the wear from waist down, the top is just silly, deplorable.
And the clutch looks like a stainless steel liquor bottle !
I don’t mind the single hand pose in general, but here it’s making the outfit from worse to worse++, it’s hanging off her arm like a curtain.
ps: It’s interesting how many comments this blog gathered. All for M.M. !
Love how she’s glowing! I find it quite an unusual choice. Always inspiring to see how Sridevi keeps experimenting which makes her a true fashion icon unlike other actresses from 80s and 90s still stuck in the past. Sridevi may well be starting a new trend here.
