A Separate(s) Story

Pairing her Nisha Sainani skirt with a Zara top, Sonam attended a recent event. Earrings from Prerto, a Dolce & Gabbana bag and River Island for Jabong sandals finished out her look.

In keeping with the character she plays in her upcoming movie, the look had a certain whimsy in its quirky just-thrown-together approach. But the end effect, here on Sonam anyway, was quite jarring. Maybe it’s the earrings, or the sandals, or maybe it’s the usually impeccably dressed to the nines actor, either way, it’s hard to buy in to this look.

  1. Memories so many childhood memories.. she reminds me of the 90’s when ppl used to dress up like this.. and the shoes are just so ugly. I thought she hated the 90’s wonder what made her dress up like ppl from way back then..

  2. I personally want the skirt, it’s quite cute actually. I think over-all she looks good but I would’ve taken the earrings off and worn flats.
I have no qualms with Sonam always being dressed up to wherever she is headed, why not ?.

  3. I still can’t believe Sonam wore those fugly sandals which can be found only on Ms Balan or Ms Mukherjee. And what is the hurry to finish off all the foundation (3 shades lighter) at one go? Major fail.

  4. What’s with the skirt? What’s with the shoes? What’s with the makeup? All tacktastic and put together so badly. Sonam has set her bar too high to turn up looking so disastrous

  5. I’m from England and these kind of shoes are quite big here but they make me do is cringe from within! I pray to god that this hideous Jellies-Birkenstock-platform hybrid is not here to stay.

    • Exactly what I was thinking! I was waiting for P&P to comment on the on trend shoes but I guess it’s just here that people will humour those ugly things.

  6. I like each of the individual pieces but together not so much. I got to give this girl credit for not pouting. Her smile is her biggest asset.

  7. Major fail…..the shoes and make up are terrible .Also am I the only one who feels sonam is just too fond of wearing earrings……there is always something dangling from her ears even when not required…..

  8. Manufactured quirkiness = surefire flop! Case in point Sonam. Trying so hard to be this manic pixie dream girl and actually ended up looking funny. So much time invested to come up with this outfit that they could not spare time to rub off some of that white wash makeup.

  9. I really don´t get whats wrong with this look. I think Sonam looks fab, yes even with the shoes. Those are super trendy in europe! I like that she is willing to try out different things and create a look that is probably more “accepted” in the west.. I mean the overall look is cute and fun, and not to mention trendy at the same time. Girls, this is what fashion is about and Sonam is a fashionista!
