Sonam attended the Colors TV bash dressed to the nines in an Elie Saab gown. The look in itself was flawless, loved the hair and the dark lips. Even the lavender Bottega Veneta knot that perfectly complimented the aubergine gown.
But, this look was an Almost for me because of the gown itself. The loose fabric on the bust exposing the bodice looked really odd.

A big fat NO from me! The dark lip makes her look wayy older and I hate her sulking expression here. Sonam’s smile is her biggest asset, she must never forget that. The lace bodice is just awkward to look at and I just feel like the overall fit is off. I normally like Sonam’s fashion sense but she hasn’t been bringing her A game in the past few appearances!

Some people just don’t look good in certain colors…this shade of purple is all wrong for Sonam. Wearing the same color lipstick and that hairstyle isn’t helping.
The tacky view of the bust from the lace bodice because of the loose fabric is plain ew. Make up is so bad.The lips are too dark and making her look vampirish. And yes, hate that sulking expression she has on.

Biased much? Cmon this look is ‘trying way too hard’ all over again. Relax Sonam and her stylist. Fashion should be effortless. Not everyone can pull off a Beckham scowl.

Sonam back to looking like a 70 year old socialite. I seriously wonder what’s wrong with her. She’s a young girl so why doesn’t she have some fun and enjoy her youth? Show off the supple skin and bouncy hair and chubby cheeks when you still have them. There is loads of time left for 10 layers of foundation and spackled on lipstick and the kind of long sleeved gowns that Helen Mirren would wear.
Sometimes she’s the worst dressed celebrity, hahhaha. How can a fashionista, a so-called trendsetter not know that the you should wear the dress and not let the dress wear you! Just because it is an Elie Saab and Sonam Kapoor doesn’t mean it’s right!

Elie Saab or not…this gown is ridiculous! Makes her look wider than she is! Her make up isn’t doing her any favours either!
This is not even getting out of hand its getting tragic. For god sake rhea kapoor brands names does not mean fashionable. Please sonam get pernia back on board as your stylist.

Where to begin? Everything about this look ages Sonam: the colour, the chalky make up with the dark lip, the odd expression. The bodice is just awkward. I really despair and wonder why someone so young and with so much access to everything that makes a good ‘look’ resorts to such expensive rubbish and as a result, ends up looking stilted, costume-y and caricatur-ish, time and again.
Those lips make this look Gothic. A costume for Halloween. Or Miss Havisham in color.

That dress is so awkward! IMHO it could still have been saved by better hair n makeup. No problem with going for a goth look, but it should be done well. That hair does not look shiny and straight, but oily and lank. And to go with a deep berry shade, you need to balance it out with a fresh face. I don’t know if she’s used an oily foundation, but she just looks sallow and like she needs a good nights sleep!
I loved the elie Saab gown that Angelina Jolie wore for the oscars. It had a very similar fit.

Just does not work AT ALL! And yes this whole tragic romance or something she goes for does not work on her. It did not work at Cannes it does not work here. Both times the looks made her look tired.
