A Lil’ Clutch Spotting

While, the ankle length made Twinkle look more bottom-heavy, Sonam pulls this look off perfectly. We love. You?

(You can catch more high-waisted looks on Twinkle here and Sophie/Vidya here.)

Am also drooling over the purple Balenciaga clutch! Delish!

Update: Swapped Pics.

  1. I seriously wish I could carry off high waisted pants like this someday! Very nice. Love her makeup too. She is definitely a keeper.

@chuck bass – I dont believe she has a stylist (yet).. she is known to have a very good dressing sense. Anil Kapoor had said it in an interview few years ago when his daughter was virtually unknown, and recently again in an SD interview.

  2. If a woman can look good in high-waisted pants, she can look good in anything!
@Anu, if she is dressing like this w/o a stylist, she’s amazing!

  3. she is certainly one sensible dresser. i say she drop bollywood and become stylist for those poor souls who manage record numbers of wthheyys on this website. at least then we wont be subjected to seeing them. besides, she really doesn’t need the money and already has the fame, right? ;)

  4. oh and btw, i actually like the brown colored clutch better. i feel it might round out the look well, as opposed to teh purple one, which kind of leaves a sharp edge to the look.

  5. Wow, she dresses like this without a stylist, Superb!! She has the perfect figure to carry off anything, and also the sweetest smile. So how can you go wrong??

I also think it works big time on her as they are cropped pants.

  7. Hi P&P, it would be kind of cool if you guys would tell us readers a little about yourselves and how/why you started this blog, etc…

Especially b/c the blog seems to be garnering more and more attention by the day.

Ignore this if you already did do this and I’m just not aware of it. :) Anyway, just a suggestion.

  8. The day she dresses bad will be the end of Fashion. She’s so different with all her looks, I think she’s one person who can experiment and get away with it. Yes, even with the poofy sleeved dress at the Slumdog Millionaire premier. Go her!

And yes, I love this look here too!

  10. I don’t think I can get tired of saying this…but she looks FABULOUS! I absolutely love her style, she’s definitely happening! With a great sense of fashion like her…who needs a stylist!

Oh..I want to steal her clutch!

  11. can i write her love song on her style? how impeccable is she every single time she steps out. i’ve seen her in new york shopping at bloomies in cool street clothes (think summer dress with chunky biker boots) and her hair open…she rocked the look. And seeing her at all these events with the perfect looks head to toe is truly quite something. She is probably the ONLY indian celebrity to rock the high waist pants!!

  12. as i’ve always written, she is very very fashion foward..and what am i gonna do with my obsession with bags?? balenciaga is lovely whn you want to do ‘chic casual’

  13. PERFECT!
I love the pop of color with the clutch- she mamages to (somehow) get her edge
the lighting in this picture makes her look very…odd
also, I think the cropped pants may have helped balance the high-waist
and I don’t think that it’s amazing that she doesn’t have a stylist (other than the fact that it means she can afford all of this stuff without getting them free through a stylist), plenty of women dress well (and with that kind of body and face- it’s sort of hard to get it wrong)

  17. Fashion – A
    Acting – B
    Hair – C
    Make up – C

This means that she needs to focus a bit on hair and make up department. manaa ki she’s a punjabi who are known to value their hair a lot but i think however many hairstyles she come up with, the length is a bit too much and she must shorten it a bit.

And above all she must focus on make up. I feel that she puts too much make up most of the time, don’t know if it’s to hide her dark circles or what but she does OD on make up and sometimes less as they say is more.

in the dress dept. she rarely disappoints. way to go Sonam!!

  18. Sonam has managed to capture the young fashionista title. She looks great in ethnic wear, western, couture, casual….It seems that she loves the clothing she wears, and it turn is loved by the same. In short, a love-affair in the fashion department. Love her!

  19. Sonam seems very comfortable in these kinds of clothes, like she has always been wearing them. And she recently said she had many friends from the fashion industry and ends up talking fashion all the time. No wonder she gets it so right.

  20. Wow loads of fans here :) Sonam does dress up well for an Indian actress but shes no style icon ! Oh she looks pretty here, her skin looks great.

  21. ok NOW you can see a bit of junk in her trunk, and it is so not flattering
girl should have insvested in some spanx
BUT it does make me feel a bit better about having those very chub cubs as well :) and she has such a fresh face!

  22. i agree with marya. i would like to see her in candid photos. with that u could really tell if she if fashionable meaning casual wear in her everyday life. i love her though. very ordinary girl but very refined and sophisticated.

  23. Those pants are very unflattering and Sonam is absolutely NOT a fashion icon, she’s just a young girl with good fashion sense nothing more nothing less…remember SD premier and Drona premier, DIFF…——-> fugly outfits!

  24. no complains with her face or hair (not complimenting either) but I hate those pants..they dont look nice and dont think they ever have the ability to…whats the point of going high-waist then cropping them? its like they used the material from the leg to make the waist – what a waste (pun maybe intended)…ewww

and her shoes look very minnie-mousey to me…

  25. the bump is not cuz she’s fat! its the pant pockets that pop out. mine do that too so i pin them down with safetypins. thats why i stopped buying pants with front pockets.
its not cuz she’s fat ladies. if she gets skinnier than that, she’ll actually disappear!

  26. Awesome style as usual… but I agree about the dark circles. When is this girl going to learn about cosmetic injectables (Juvey, Resty) for UNDER the eye? I think even Deepika had it done (check out circles/bags from her beginning days). I thought PS was all the rage in India these days..

Anyway, she’s a stunning girl and gets better and better…

  27. OK I hope my other comments are not approved… just wanted to say that for less makeup solution to dark circles, injectable filles are a good option.

  28. i’ll always say this = Sonam is a true fashionista. it’s in her genes peeps – her mom’s a designer as well. and this gal knows how to channel her inborn good taste, keen sense of current trends & the ability to mix and match with all that disposable income (courtesy dad im sure) to grab the best buys. Smart kid!

  29. are you guys kidding me? i usually love sonam – but this is just not working for me. the pants have little love handles and as someone else said – i want to see the fit at the back. nope. just not working.

  30. What I luv abt sonam she pulls of every dress nicely. Also she is very experimental abt her hair, dress, makeup …She harldy goes wrong ..Cos of her body figure Iguess…I luv her check bone the best!!!!

  31. @Sudha: She spends all the money she earns on shopping and travelling and probably invests some of it somewhere! She doesn’t use any of it to feed herself or pay bills…so it’s easy for her! Lucky girl!

  32. i think her arms and love handles need some serious toning
    otherwise fab!!!

but isnt it disheartening? bolly celebs dress so badly that when a moderately dressed woman comes along (with high pants and a pop of colour), we all go ooh and aah and call her a fashionista!!!
