In Tarun Tahiliani

Sonam attended Shilpa’s Diwali bash wearing Tarun Tahiliani. Between the sheerness of the outfit itself and the drape that almost felt awkward and forced, can’t say we were instant fans of this look. Also not helping was the heavy handed blush/bronzer.

Did you like this look?

On an aside, if J-Lo ever decided to go desi, this outfit would be perfect for her. No? :P

  1. She still has a graceful aura around her……in such a tacky outfit…..still being confident nd poised is only possible for her……she always reminds me of the emperor and his clothes story;)

  2. Tarun Tahiliani is a hit or a miss. He’s not consistent. This outfit is so wrong for the Diwali event and Sonam looks really washed out with the bland make up and the bad hair style. A total Thumbs down!

    • Plus 1 for the inappropriateness of the outfit for the event in question. Would be great for a red carpet event. Somehow the blouse silhouette and design screams trying to hard!

  3. She’s been nailing every look of hers during PRDP promotions. However, this one, her blouse looks to tight. Ruins the look. Sonam has beautiful cheekbones… no need to put so much blush/bronzer.

  4. A more ‘conservative’ blouse would have saved this look by miles.
A regular blouse with sweetheart neckline/broad square in olive/mehendi green and backbuttoned…Kaboom!!

  5. The blouse is soooo sheer. The saree is not so bad actually but Sonam looks uncomfortable. Disappointing, because she was having such a good run lately.

  6. such cleavage show looks ok on a formal gown but odd on a saree, the actual saree bit is beautiful though. Very delicate and ethereal looking.

  7. Too much sheer shine and shimmer. There are three stark colours on her cheek. Brown contour pink blush and white highlight. When will she get rid of her makeup artist?

  8. It is a nice outfit just not event appropriate! Unfortunately I think she is uncomfortable about the boob show! I think the common sense in her is trumping the fashionista image here.

  9. I saw this and then imagined shilpa shetty/ raveena tandon in this saree. Now that I look at it again I dont mind it so much. Sonam looks graceful in this whole tacky affair. She exudes an aura which sort of salvages her.

  10. I thought she forgot to wear her blouse and came out in her golden bra.
the blouse is designed very badly atleast couple of inched more coverage would have salvaged the look.
even though she is trying to look confident, she looks very uncomfortable,

  11. She looks nice, however the way she is holding her pallu draws more attention to her cleavage. And it almost looks like she is not comfy and trying to cover up or so!

  12. Draping looks awkward. The navel, boob etc and her awkward holding of sari. a different blouse this may have worked. may have..

  13. This is all kinds of bad. Sonam is usually very elegant in her sartorial choices even though they may be risque, but this one is a total miss. But but this is for Shilpa Shetty’s bash..so I guess it’s in keeping with the theme hah

  14. Ewwww. That blouse is a monstrosity — a golden wonderbra made dressy with some beige net and bling. Like someone said: it could have been a good look if she had switched the blouse. And had she not clutched her saree to hide her modesty, it wouldn’t have drawn as much attention.

Someone like DP could have gotten away with the saree because of her frame, I guess. Here, it just looks like J-Lo ordered a saree. You guys got that so right :)
