In Rasario

At an event unveiling a party anthem by a liquor brand, Sonam was seen in a black ruffle jumpsuit by Russian label, Rasario. Waist up, I loved this look. The ruffles, the plunging neckline and her hair and make-up. Waist down though, I wasn’t feeling the same way. The cropped length seemed to throw off proportions here and the jumpsuit didn’t seem to fall right either.

The jumpsuit also revealed plenty of side-boob, which is another reason, I wish it ended at the ankles. You can find those pics inside.

Her look was finished out with a sparkly Louboutin clutch and jewellery from Farah Khan Fine Jewellery.

    • I agree ! She looks fantastic. Y’all pick on her too much – how is this too much side boob and Priyanka Chopra from the Oscars not?

  1. OMG! This would almost be termed as wardrobe malfunction! I agree with the jumpsuit being ankle length as this is very formal waist up, but the length right now is making it casual wear!

  2. In the first three pics Sonam looks stunning. The the disastrous side-boob pic pops up and…absolutely NO! This is a horrid wardrobe malfunction. Does the stylist know about body tapes. Hair and make up looks good.

  3. That is dangerously close to having a wardrobe malfunction. Even if the side boob wasn’t an issue, the jumpsuit needed to be full length to balance out the ruffled design at the top. Its a badly designed outfit all over.

  4. I actually completely agree with your review except I would say the only issue waist up is the vulgar amount of side boob. It needed long trousers for elegance. Love the jewels. Overall, sonams style has evolved into truly fierce and chic; she used to be a bit too princessy.

    • And why would you say that? Cos her side boob is visible? Why don’t you keep your comments limited to her clothes instead of what you think she is or isn’t doing. Don’t need your petty judgment here.

    • + Akash Kapur. I was thinking the same (though I would’nt have put it in such a blunt manner) and I honestly find it strange someone would take such offence at your comment.

  5. It is a fit of the jumpsuit overall – it appears side boob is from a too-tight top part (or a zip pulled apart!!) and the weird creases from too-tight bottom part!

  6. I am not a prude but that is TOO much side boob. I am sorry but it looks cheap and almost vulgar and brings down the look several notches. I also agree with the length of the jumpsuit being off. Her eyebrows seem too overdrawn too. Overall, not her best look.

  7. She looks and feels super confident! More power to her. We wouldn’t flinch if this was a h’wood actress.
PS: I don’t see where any double-sided tape would be put. That being said, sonam’s got some perky girls ;) no wonder she owns the look!

  8. Front side she looks good. why ..but oh Why do Women do this to themselves.Do any men do this ? show off their privates ? as far as I know boobs are still considered privates
Side boob show is so trashy ? What statement does that make. You really need to think before exposing

  9. I actually really liked the outfit till I saw the side profile. The ruffles make a strong and interesting statement, feminine without being princessy. But as usual all of these high fashion stuff is made for ppl with far smaller boobs i.e. Models

  10. I actually really liked the look until I saw the sideboobs…oh my…its too much… She looks smoking hot from front though I agree about the length of the jumpsuit throwing off proportions.

  11. Disturbing ! I think she should really look at herself from all sides before she steps out.. coz what she’s worn is a really disturbing… and not AT ALL aesthetic.. i cant understand what she was aiming for.. Maybe as one reader pointed out.. she’s got perky girls.. thats what she wanted to show off..! well yes then we got it now Sonam .. pl keep them away from public viewing.. Am just disgusted..

  12. I happened to see a video of the Chandon starter anthem launch party and she looked really uneasy and uncomfortable! She was constantly adjusting her neckline and the ruffles! She was trying hard to appear cool while grooving to the anthem… IMHO, she should have known what was expected of her at the event and worn an outfit accordingly. It is not able wearing plunging necklines and showing cleavage… it’s about how confident you come across in it!

  13. I’m not quite sure why but I always find the idea of a side boob off putting. At the same time I have no issue with a deep plunge or a major cleavage
So not a prude…breasts can be celebrated
BUT designs that open in the side like this one just look unfinished
And no matter how fierce the person may try to look they are let down by design

  14. I saw the video of the launch party, I think she looks amazing and not at all uncomfortable! Every side boob is not a malfunction (case in point) , loved the jumpsuit and the ruffles add the right amount of drama!

    • There are pictures showing her constantly adjusting her outfit.
Like fashionfauxpas said above, it’s true, she seemed thrown off by this tackfest!

  15. Readers were so engrossed with the view of side boob that they just skipped the fitting around the crotch- last pic in second row!

  16. Hahaha confidently carrying the dress.

The dress and the side boob show is hideous. It is very disturbing. Why would anybody want to flash privates in public? And it is not even aesthetically pleasing!
Tomorrow she will say “the portion of side boob exposed doesn’t define me” and all that blah

  17. Boob-am Kapoor does this again..this is just looking vulgar. And this isn’t a sexist statement, it’s as bad as guys wearing low waisted jeans and showing all of their boxers :(..
Very tasteless and tacky. Fashionable? NO.

  18. A very basic question – a dress like this needs to be fitted, right?
The side profile seems like it’s too roomy and airy all around, in the top
This is seriously a wardrobe malfunction. If the picture was taken from a couple of more steps to her left, all would be visible!
Even celebs in daring and risque dresses don’t end up looking like this!
So-nam must be so numb not to realize this!

  19. I think she looks fantastic and she is in great shape. The only thing here that is a bit jarring is the eyebrows. This isn’t the first time Sonam has worn something revealing so I don’t understand why most people feel so scandalized in this comment section.

  20. Why is the sight of breasts so ” disturbing” for some people here!!!! Seriously man! Heard of “free the nipple” movement?! There is nothing “vulgar” about breasts. They are the most beautiful assests. Let’s not impose our morality and label breasts as vulgar and disturbing to look at …

    • A man is proud of his b*lls or d**k, should he flaunt it? If you have freedom to flaunt others have freedom to click. Agreed there is nothing vulgar but hope you would agree its sensual (pls read dictionary meaning). If you are so proud of your body, they are your assets, well then flaunt it fully and dont get bothered by how they are clicked. Be comfortable with whatever is clicked and shown as you intention was to show off. She just lashed out that “I said lot of pertinent thing but they chose this to print”, now you have freedom to wear, they have freedom to print. If you talk of responsible journalism then talk about how responsible you are. You are flaunting your sensuality and getting offended if people are aroused. Not fair

    • I agree there is nothing vulgar about breasts; as I mentioned before I am not a prude either. If it’s tastefully done in my opinion, I am ALL for it. I hold the men to the same standards. For example, Aamir Khan’s chest displaying Filmfare cover was crassy in my opinion and yes, I would deem it bordering on vulgar. What I hate is playing the woman card for any opinion/topic of dissent I might have. This is not a man vs. woman thing. It’s just a question of good or bad taste.

  21. I don’t care for the side-boob…if you can carry it off, kudos to you. The problem I have with this jumpsuit is the awkward length and the absurd/weird fit on the crotch. It’s just not working but neck up she looks stunning.
