Mirzya premiered at the ongoing BFI London Film Festival and in attendance was Sonam lending her support to Harshvardhan wearing a Ralph & Russo Couture creation.
With the bodice of the gown being mesh, I understand the need for the cropped jacket but I can’t say I like it. It makes the overall look feel very stuffy.

The skirt is too see through. I think Saiyami looked better at this event.
Sonam looks quite lovely. Fab color for her. Glad she wore the jacket, it’s the Fall season…bit chilly, but also the ‘mesh work’ is more transparent that I’d like it to be. The cropped jacket still allows quite a bit of cleavage actually. Perfect hair and make-up too.
For once can’t she allow the leading lady to take center stage ? I mean she could have picked something subtle..
You mean an athelete should slow down in a race so that someone who never won gets to win? When a confident lady who loves fashion,goes out,she simply wears her best.It’s in her DNA. The other woman could have upped her game knowing her potential competition,if it mattered to her.

Although the overall look already felt one size and half too big, even on the very skinny model on the runway, i totally agree with you.
I think Saiyami Kher holds her own, she is wonderfully showing a distinctive style from day one, not trying to ape Sonam Kapoor. Wise girl.
the athlete comparison is not right. It would have been if they were both actresses in this movie. Sonam was attending the premiere. It’s like the common courtesy of not outshining the bride at a wedding!

if you’re not presenting / nominated, and just attending or a date, you keep it on the not-OTT-side… as someone said, basic courtesy.

Haha..the comparison doesn’t sound valid…but that’s okay our opinions differ. If she was any other heroine attending a world premiere I get it but, it was her younger brother’s movie premiere with a new face. Saiyami was stunning in her indian couture design but Sonam had to show off her international designers couture piece with all that sheer at this event. It doesn’t mean she didn’t look good in it, she would have smashed this look at Cannes…
I agree, most events are fair game but someone else’s premiere is sort of their turf… the last person you’d expect to exploit that platform would be the lead’s sister :P
Understandable Sonam likes to dress up. But this wasn’t her event..
a bodysuit would have been so much better under the gown. This looks like she is wearing a two piece high waisted bikini. Not a good look.

In this event i liked sayami more. She looked classy, elegant. Sonam as usual OTT for the event which is not her’s.
Subtlety is not Sonam’s game and we knew it but to want to outshine her brother and his partner in the film is ridiculous. And someone compared it to to athletes or sports person competing…seriously??? Who is she competing with? Grow up woman!

She is overdressed for an event that’s not even about her.
She looks RAVISHING and definitely outshining Saiyami but I doubt whether they exchanged notes on Wat they’d be wearing for the premiere, thus it’s unfair to blame Sonam for bringing her A game to the event.

I love the color on her. But am not in love with the gown’s top half. The mesh top looks weird and cheap. I wish the top was better designed, ‘cos otherwise she looks good.
I am not a sonam fan, but i think she looks awesome here. I love the gown and even the mesh detail. She looks like a supermodel here. The hair and makeup is on point. In fact, all four together looked phenomenal. I wish she had worn this to cannes

She looks great. Love the color. I like the fact that there is no ashen makeup like she usually has on. Plus no necklace or choker, or even heavy earrings.
