Sari Style

Wearing a floral print sari from Neeru’s, Sonam attended VDW promotions on Thursday morning. While she sported the pally in tight pleats in the morning, later in the evening at the screening of her brother’s movie, she opted for a more casual drape. Much preferred the pallu down drape.

  1. P&P- I think search through the tags is broken . They don’t show all the results . Not even the post you started your search with !!

      • This very same post . If I click on the ‘VEERE DI WEDDING PROMOTIONS’ tag on this post , the results doesn’t include this Sonam post itself . Or should I search using the ‘VEERE DI WEDDING PROMOTIONS’ keywords for all the posts with ‘VEERE DI WEDDING PROMOTIONS’ tag to come up ?

  2. Err, totally LOVE the tight pleats – looks nice and casual and makes the busy saree seem more wearable. HATE the pallu down. Makes such a big difference.. whoa. I have observed, your P&P your bias for pallu down always – please explain why? would love to hear your point of view..is it just personal preference or more to do with traditional drapes perhaps?

  3. I can’t make head or tail of that blouse. The sari is pretty and with a better blouse would have given a nice summery vibe.

  4. I would have preferred a change of blouse rather than the drape !
Sonam has been favoring extremely loose and baggy clothes lately.. I constantly wish to get hold of that extra loose garment and stitch it back together for a much sleeker look.
Neck up she has a gorgeous face..

  5. Same saree, same necklace, same hairdo- just change the blouse to a more ‘normal’ one and what a stunner of a look this could have been! Wasted opportunity

  6. Blouse is an abomination.
Cropped blouses work but need to be in a slightly structured fabric. This looks like someone took a pair of scissors to a GAP t-shirt.

  7. How many ways are there to kill a saree? I think sonam has shown us every variety.
This literally is a saree draped over a loose top and no it doesn’t work. At all. Its sloppy and messy.

  8. This look is soooo shabby and sad as it reminds me of the child brides forced into marriage in the loose fitting outfits (probably their mothers). Especially the left two pictures.

  9. I liked the pleated version better. Not at all feeling the loose drape. And the shirt needed to be a bit more fitted. It is too loose to be paired with a saree. Looks odd.
