In Dice Kayek Couture

Comment image 45

Sonam lent her support to dad Anil at the press meet of 24 wearing another Dice Kayek Couture suit. It almost seems like she heard a few of you and paired her dramatic jacket and shirt with pants where the length was more on the right side.

Does this outing get your seal of approval?

While I really like this look, I have to question, again, the appropriateness of it.

A) It wasn’t quite her event.
B) It was just a press meet and didn’t seem to warrant a Couture look
and
C) It just seemed unfair to all the other actors present who seemed to go the more casual route. :P

  1. But why she should dress down to please others. If she is being invited for launch it is because she is sonam and sonam is known for her fashion looks. I don’t agree P and P. I like this look. Also happy birthday sonam

  2. Her shirt looks like a chef coat and doesn’t seem appropriate with a short jacket on top. Maybe if she had worn just the chef coat inspired shirt OR the jacket with a simpler shirt this look would have been a lot better balanced .

  3. Sonam never fails to bring something new to the table, especially in Bollywood. We have the prim and proper ponytails/up dos of Deepika Padukone, the ever so sexy bodycon dresses of Priyanka Chopra, the TV ball gown fanatic Mallaika Arora Khan, the plain jane Katrina Kaif, and the unofficial brand ambassador of Gucci and Burberry Kangana Ranaut doing the red carpet rounds. So am always tries something different.

    • Couldn’t have said it better. Everyone does their thing & so does she. Only, she does it so well.

Like that she doesn’t give AF and wears whatever she pleases.

  4. Why does Sonam have to conform to the standards (or lack of them) of others? From a purely fashion/ style perspective, she looks good and wears the suit very well.

  5. She looks good here. It looks formal & stylish without looking like trying hard. Better to be dressed up rather than looking like a hot mess. But the hair is too frizzy in the last pic, cant believe that the photoshop didnt work. :P

  7. It’s Sonam Kapoor, when has event appropriateness ever mattered to her? She uses any event to dress up, and she looks pretty great whilst doing so. This time is no different.

  8. If there was ever a way to dress down a tux, it is this one. No loud makeup, & flat. Chic but understated. I disagree with you on this, Sonam never looked better!

& why is it a problem. I imagine her bringing glamour to her father´s grabd launch event gets the show even more attention from the media & the youth. & for that reason alone, of course she has to dress well. Everywhere in this world except in India, grand premieres see actors that are invited dress up to make the event special. If anything, those who came in jeans & tees are disrepectful to the occasion.

Did i already say that i love it hehe

  9. She looks great in the suit – event appropriateness aside. And I think its not that out of hte place considering it is a home production for her. Better this than being dressed in a sequin embroidered couture gown. The one thing I cannot get on board is- the hair. Way too frizzy and casual for the outfit.

  10. She looks good! However, not sure if this is the attire for a press meet! I often find Sonam’s choices a little over-the-top and not event appropriate. It is not always about being a fashionista!!

  11. She looks fabulous. I looked at this and though what a fantastic suit…so it doesn’t look as couture as you’re describing it. Love her shoes!

  12. Very cheap observations P & P!
What do you mean it is not *her* event?
Also, do you make sure that every party you attend, you are pretty much at the mean/median of all fashion statements being made? Are you never the only one wearing designer clothes at a party? And if yes, what do you do? Come back home to change in to something more “appropriate” or hide in shame? This blog has become too much about nepotism, people pleasing, and appropriateness in the last few months!

  13. I think she looks great. I’m not sure any of them or even us really dress to be fair to others at events. There is no lack of event appropriateness here in my opinion. Sapna was dressed in a cut of dress ( which I thought she looked good in) but it could have easily been perceived as an evening outfit. Live and let live.

  14. Seriously guys… what’s come over to you… I mean first you were appreciating her every small look.. now this criticism from nower.. And it does not even make sense.. I am truly baffled…Its like you are not being honest..

  15. She is looking darn goood! Not her problem if others at the same event are dressed casually. She has never shied away from making an effort. She loves fashion and cares none about what others’ take on fashion is. So like many others noted above this is her take on casual. Love this girl and her bold choices!

  16. Comments on Sonam’s posts are so strange. If PnP like the look, then they are accused of bias. If they criticize some aspect of the look, then the supporters come out in packs shouting hoarse. No way to win this one. :-|

  17. I like this look and i don’t even like Sonam. P & P, your obsession with appropriateness needs to stop. Jesus. Last week, it was Deepika’s weather appropriateness and this week its Sonam’s event appropriateness. Who died and appointed you god?
