It was gold for Ms. Kapoor at the Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards who wore a strapless gown from Dubai based label Atelier Zuhar. Going by their in-house professionally shot pictures, one immediately went Whoa!. Especially where the gown with its sudden flare gives an illusion of a very narrow waist.
But, now that I’ve seen the pictures at the actual event, my reaction is not quite the same. Sure, she wears the gown well, and pairing it with the headpiece was a good way of not making the look feel overkill but frankly, the look felt a bit too Dolce & Gabbana-esque and I wish she would go for more youthful looks at these awards events instead of the princess/voluminous skirt look she seems to favor quite a bit.

I love this look ! Yes it’s princessy but it’s so pleasing to the eye. It’s delicate , feminine and for a change she didn’t kill it with accessories .
The make up and hair are spot on. It’s youthful, glam and decent all in one. Love it
That’s a very beautiful gown & she looks utterly gorgeous in it.
The head piece is horrid – detracts from the look & makes it all seem like a lil girl playing dress up.
Shame she’s done so many of these that this doesn’t stand out as much as it should do.

Oh man…I am not a fan of too much bling but this gown is gorgeous. Sonam looks fantastic ! And P&P what exactly is wrong if a design is “creating an illusion of a narrow waistline”.

Sonam looks lovely. I have a thing for such princessy headpieces. Loved Deepika’s headpiece in the met gala and love Sonam’s too.
Professionally shot or Photoshopped ! ?! Such looks Sonam should reserve for events like Cannes. Brighter lip color was needed here.

She looks absolutely fab here! She has gone all out as per usual but this was a national event which needed a moment like this!! Trust Sonam to actually give us something to cheer about in this otherwise underwhelming event !
Guess I am the only one that disliked this. Sonam has done better princessy looks before. I don’t like the gown & I am not digging the styling either.
The bodice of the gown had potential but the skirt is just not my cup of tea. I found the outfit and styling frivolous.

She looks pretty and I like her makeup. She often does a princessy look and her styling is generic. If you want truly interesting style look to neha dhupia, not sonam kapoor.
