In Anamika Khanna

Comment image 42

At the Ambani-Piramal wedding, Sonam was seen in a custom Anamika Khanna lehenga with Amrapali emerald and diamond earrings. Also wearing custom Anamika featuring the “Everthing is AK-OK” + name verbiage was sister Rhea a few weeks ago to the Padukone-Singh wedding reception.

I don’t mind the statement lettering. I actually loved Rhea’s outfit. But, the addition of the names was where all love was lost. If it was a subtle note in small lettering from the designer to the girls, I’d understand. As is though, it just looked garish. The entire charm of the whole celebrity is lost when the celebrity them-self is wearing a giant lettering of their own name. It just seems a bit self-centered. But, then I guess that is the name of the game.

  1. I actually loved everything about the look and it seems so youthful and fresh!…coz tired of seeing the heavy embellished, gaudy clothes, sabya jewelery and chipku hairstyles on all these celebrities. It’s hard to say who’s wedding it is as they all look same :-).

  2. Really can’t get my head around the lettering. Loved the outfit and specially the jewellery at first look but then it was! Quite ridiculous and vain.

  3. I agree with p&p but why does the bottom of the blouse and sleeves look like they open and close with a drawstring … like laundry bags?
    Am I missing something here?

  4. Loved Rhea Kapoor’s more, the color and jewellery- very different. Black bold lettering is interesting.. Glad she is trying to be different.

  5. The lettering is just comical. The clothes and makeup look decent only in the carefully shot studio pictures. In the pap pictures, Sonam’s hot pink outfit looks absolutely garish.

  6. Oh my God. Please let this not be a trend…please please.
What a fabulous necklace, saree and blouse wasted on Rhea. I cannot stand Sonam’s outfit color.
Reminds me of those “Hello, I’m” stickers people use to introduce folks at parties. Except embroidered and in your face. Maybe they are actually making it easier to introduce themselves at the wedding. You wanna know who I am, just read off my saree…haha

  7. I find it very tacky. I don’t understand how you can wear it to a wedding. Way to make it all about you. I guess this is one way to stand out among the bling and OTT outfits around you.

  8. Janhvi-Khushi, Rhea-Sonam, Kareena-Karisma, Malaika-Amrita. Karisma is the only one that I look forward to on these pages. These sister acts are more like which one is worse.

  9. Well Udaipur ATC could have used that dress with a slight edit as “Everything is A-OK”and placed a custom order for one that says “Roger That”. It would have been of great help with all those private jets flying in this weekend…

  11. Firstly this whole concept is a bad idea! Secondly Rhea wore this a reception where people were letting their hair down and having a good time so it was kind of OK. But to wear this to a traditional wedding ceremony is a big no. I’m also thinking maybe she wore this so all the attendees from around the world know who she is lol

  12. Can’t believe what I’m seeing. Is this going to be the new trend now? God help us! Minus the lettering also Sonam’s outfit looks garish and its a jewellery overload as always, those sleeves are terrible. Rhea’s neckpiece is a beauty but such a waste on Rhea. Open hair, saree with the lettering and that drape everything working against her.

  14. Both Sonam and Rhea’s looks in this particular so called trend they are trying to create is shoddy. I can’t understand Anamika Khanna’s clothes, most of the time looks complicated. Too many things thrown in. Now added to it this big bold letters of the celebrity and designer- why ? Why do they need to show their love for the designer they endorse? Doesn’t make sense. Overall it’s a thumbs down.

  15. Love this. Of course everyone hates on her statement but then accepts it in hindsight. Story of Sonam’s life. After all the boring florals and tired chinkari work something fresh and she’s gorgeous enough to pull it off

  16. Is that just a really BIG DHOBHI MARK (Rhea baby ke kapde) or were they being dropped off after the weddings to a summer camp and their mom had instructions to only send clothes marked with their names.

  17. This design idea works well for large gatherings like melas, exhibitions – huge help to parents who always are worrying about lil ones getting seperated from them in the crowd. Along with the name , phone number can also be added. Great design in public interest.

  18. I thought AK stood for “Anand Kapoor” but then Rhea is sporting it too! So may be it stands for Anil Kapoor! Hmmm…. I am all confused, hahaha!

  19. I loveeeeed it… so edgy, so personal and non blingy. A typical AK…. one of my fav look , so not run of the mill
BTW – it’s OK to be self centered #loveyourself

  20. This is why we love the kapoor sisters, they are never safe, love or hate. I love the turquoise jewellery against the hot pink, reminds me of cameron diaz’s met gala look from several years ago. As for the lettering, I think its street influenced while i agree it would be a better look for a promotion event than a wedding, I also quite like the idea of it being a conversation starter at a gathering.

  21. Omg the dhobi comment cracked me up. I remember in the old days the hostel boarders had their name tags on their uniforms so that they could figure out whose uniform was which after the dhobis brought them back from washing in the rivers.lol
