In Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla

It was an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga for Shweta at the Mehta-Ambani wedding, but of course! Yes, the lehenga is very ornate and could’ve easily been overwhelming but, she looked rather elegant in it. Love the braided hair and bindi on her; Shweta looked lovely.

  1. She looks very tiered probably because of the make up or the sultry weather. Her face looks so tired as if she walked from her home to the wedding venue.

  2. What a garish outfit! Don’t like it at all. Yes, she fares better in it than most would. But her make up is melting!? The make up is way too heavy.

  3. This lehenga is interesting, I feel like I would enjoy it more if that dupatta was less ornate, and more of a bold color, I do find the silk edging on one side rather striking though

  4. I love it. It’s a bit much but Swetha looks radiant, esp. with the high bindi. I know it’s not fair to compare, but this is infinitely better than sis-in-law Ash’s purple monstrosity.

  5. I’m on the fence with the look. I think the dupatta is all wrong; a soft sheer one would have been better. But I love Shweta’s hair and makeup. She’s looking good.

  6. She looks lovely but my word that lengha is awful. Especially that huge bronze underlay to the dupatta . It’s so shiny and gaudy and ruins the whole look. Without it the look would have been acceptable gaudy but it really is too much

  7. The lehenga is very ornate alright… Ornately bad that is !!! Especially that plain gold design in the middle of all the clashing designs ! I’m guessing the designer duo is stoned 24*7 that every design of theirs is such a monstrosity !

  8. Such a pity you stopped covering the older ladies. Why not showcase Jaya Bachchan?

You keep lamenting about people not wearing traditional weaves but when someone does, you decide not to showcase it? So, basically you are saying you are only happy when someone young wears Indian weaves.

You might not publish this – has happened quite a bit with your site of late – but something for you to think about.

  9. Since the duppatta and the lehanga was not shiny enough she decided to take a dip in a pot of highlighter. The hair looks casual but I like it.

  10. This is literally upstaging the bride and I have always told my non-Indian friends, you have to try REALLY hard to upstage an Indian bride. But this is it. I wouldn’t be surprised if she goes and sits in the dholi instead of shloka.
