Sari Style

Not suprisingly, Shweta and Navya both wore Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla on Saturday evening to the Ambani-Mehta engagement ceremony.

While Shweta’s ruffled sari may not be everyone’s cup of tea, she had bigger issues with her make-up. Navya looked pretty nice in her green sari. Again, the sari itself may not be your cup of tea as well.

  1. Mom and daughter both look resplendent. They just ooze so much class. The ruffle spree is definitely not my cup of tea but boy does she shwetha pull it off with her statuesque personality! Navya is one hell of a beautiful gal. Love the emerald green color on her and love that she accessorized with a mang tikka. These ladies are sheer class. I am sorry but I hate to compare but Aishwarya just pales in comparison.

  2. I actually like Navya’s saree, and she looks lovely. Not too crazy about Shweta’s saree…the ruffle looks like an afterthought; her makeup is ott as well.

  3. I am going to be in the minority here but I don’t like either one’s entire look, same way I didn’t like Priyanka’s red saree at one of the pre-pre functions. Something seems very 90s movie courtesan kind of tacky and overdone.

  4. Both of them looked horrible!! Absolutely no class..these designers cloths don’t look elegant anymore.you can get the same stuff in Dadar Mumbai..what my kaamvali bai wears especially the green saree.

      • honest question – why? VTG obviosuly means that a person with far less resources (monetary / access to designers etc) has something similar which obviously cost a whole lot less. what is off putting about it?

        • Seems like VTG’s comment implies that people with lower income like a Bai naturally have bad taste and ‘absolutely no class’. This is prejudiced. Quite clearly , the opposite is not true either.

          • I read the same comment as you did and found nothing derogatory about it whatsoever about anyone on either side of the poverty line. its a fashion blog and not a UN general assembly, last i checked.

  5. That ruffle pallu and border looks stupid. The stitching is something u see in designer class. Shweta often goes heavy handed with makeup at these events in an effort to go ‘glam’.
Navya looks lovely despite her boring old fashioned saree.
Will abu sandeep just plz retire

  7. Tired of ABSK, it’s a label for grandmothers!!! The likes of Jaya Bacchan. No innovation from them. So it’s a label for fossils and grandmothers, everything they do is over the top, there’s no sense of taste or proportion, it’s all embroidery!

  8. I wonder what dark secrets of the Bachchan household AJSK know and hold over them that the Bachchans favour them so much.

Like the colour of Navya’s saree, that’s about it.

  9. Voting for AJ SK as the worst wedding designer of the year. I don’t even see the craftsmanship anymore. I cannot handle many more tack fests.

  10. Terrible in an understatement here…both saris are atrocious and why has Navya slapped on so much makeup on her face…shouldnt she let her youthful beauty shine through? Less said about Shweta’s makeup the better.
