For recent festivities, Shilpa chose to wear red. Bindi in place, the actor rounded out her look with traditional jewelry both times.

The relatively more casual sighting in the suit, or the dressier sari, which of Shilpa’s two looks has your vote?

  1. The sari drapes around her like a dream. Don’t particularly like the sari or its gaudy border or the styling – just that she looks so damn good in it.

  2. The sari is a tacky lehariya that thousands of women have been wearing since the beginning of time. Shilpa’s version is only slightly more tackier than the original. I don’t see why this look merits a mention on a fashion blog, unless her PR finally managed to convince you that this look “is breaking the internet”.

    • Hey. Its not a leheriya. Its just a striped sari (as far as I can see)
And as for Leheriya’s being tacky – sorry to correct you, but its a rich heritage of hand work, which if you cannot admire, you should not diss. Leheriya’s have a global appeal and are a sign of our long weaving and colouring history.

      • It is a leheriya, look closely. You can also get broader stripes like this one in lehariyas.
Also, I’m not dissing them. Maybe I should have put it a little differently.
In my opinion, they look tacky. Yes, old and traditional and take a lot of skill but still, not great looking – once again only an opinion on the subjective topic of fashion.
