The look may have been simple and basic but, Vidya looked anything but basic. I for one loved it; she looked so pretty! (More pics here.)

  1. dignified, event-appropriate and effortlessly beautiful. i love it that Vidya drapes the saree around so casually, like regular women — it really is an extension of her — instead of pinned up like a mannequin.

    • I agree Senorita. I find I just scroll past the contrived, pouty looks that some of the celebs put together. It’s an overkill now. Vidya keeps it real and therein lies her charm. She looks particularly lovely in blue and I love the jhola :)

  2. she looks better than usual here. she’s getting married in a month or two and has ordered 18 saris from sabyasachi for the event! i’m looking forward to seeing those saris!

  3. God, she looks breathtaking ! Wow. I love the stacked bangles. They look so “organic”. The same applies to her bag and earrings. So different from the usual chamki stuff. I am loving how her sense of style has evolved.

  4. She looks beautiful! The draping actually adds to the look rather than takes away, her hair looks lovely and the entire look has a refreshingly natural and earthy feel to it.

And to think that just yesterday, I was thinking about how disappointed I was by the way she wears a lot of her saris.

  5. She wore the same stuff to Anupama Chopra show. She looks so splendid in this simple cotton saree. So down to earth and real!! You don’t have to be a glam diva with a stick thin figure to do this. A look anyone can try.
