Nayanthara picked a khadi sari for the main awards night. A small bindi in place, the actor finished out her look with heavy eye make-up and statement jewelry from Amrapali. She looked lovely! I do wish she had carried a clutch though… Not only would it have completed the look, she’d also have had a place to pop her phone in. Phones have no place on a formal red carpet, non? That said, given how nice she looked, it was a minor gripe only.

A clutch would have been perfect.
Whats the pompoms and the pendant hanging at the back, and the pink case? Quite tacky. The pallu is doing a job of sweeping the arena. Just the sari with a non sweeping pallu, the necklace alone with a clutch would have worked much better.
Seriously what is all that crap hanging down her back. Just rubbish. And I hope she dry cleans that saree before giving it back to the designer.

The saree is extremely pretty with that yellow-orange & blue border against off-white base. Love the jewellery (the one present on back as well). Blouse could have been different but it is certainly not a deal breaker. She looks lovely!
P.S. That last pic is SO scary. Looks like a chopped hand coming out of nowhere. :P
I don’t know who she is but how lovely she looks. Love her sari and the necklace. You don’t need to wear blingy synthetic garish saris to look good. I wish that she had left the tacky pink phone at home though.

I heart Nayanthara. That out of the way, the pom poms AND the silver pendants at the back are an overkill. I love this woman’s easy relaxed style and demeanour. The gorgeous linen saree speaks volumes of her easy relaxed very sexy personality.
Have to agree on the clutch…that phone is just making it a little tacky. Maybe a red clutch to suit the odd blouse choice would have tied this look together. But I am sure she was striking among the sea of gowns.
She looks gorgeous. I think if she had chosen a blouse in black, the necklace would have popped more. Nevertheless, she looks lovely.
Her eyebrows are wayy overdone. I normally like her simplicity but this look is way too bland.

Can you ID the sari for us? Any idea where we can get one? I haven’t seen such a light looking khadi in stores. I love the sari. Good appearance.

I love her style! So simple and so not-following-the-trends. Not many people can wear such a simple saree and look red carpet ready. She looks amazing. I love sleeveless blouses on her.
