  1. Noo noo.. we asked for color n we got it but the whole look, looks soo forced. Doesn’t even look like something for reception!..m disappointed with their whole reception outfits.

    • This could be any bollywood award show look. Also, there is just fatigue from their stock expressions, bazillion times. As if their PR gave them a memo: if you are not grinning like possums, you are not happily in love. How many times do you have to congratulate the same people for getting married? The way they milked this wedding for publicity has made them super-repulsive.

      • They look lovely. What a stunning pair.

@m Fyi: Even when they individually pose at red carpets and other events they have “grinning like possums smiles”. Where is the milking? Even I had 3 wedding receptions and I’m not even a celebrity nor as rich as them.

      • I think if you have a problem with them grinning and laughing with people that just means touching have stalked them too much on Instagram and are seeking out too many photos of them.

I don’t get why p&p wont moderate these comments that have NOTHING to do with fashion choices, and ask people to keep it limited to that and not commenting on how many receptions one holds or how much laughter there is. I had a comment moderated related to an overly-botoxed face of a celebrity (I don’t care I understand, but just using an example) – I think it’s probably in better taste to comment on someone’s reliance on excessive plastic surgery as a fashion accessory than these sort of personal, nosy and hateful comments. Also people have no need to even click on a post covering their multiple receptions if it’s too many for some.

As an aside, I’m not a big fan of the belt on the waist or it’s composition – it reminds me of those suspender-material belts.
Also think maybe it might be underwhelming/award-show like to some because these people dress up for award functions in all sorts of absurd and OTT ways and there’s not much more room left to be different or stand out or go big on a special occasion.

        • I am floored at you taking selective umbrage at comments that don’t align with your viewpoint about grinning and laughing. Many comments on these wedding pictures have nothing to do with fashion but did not see you police them. “These look like stills from a movie or a ad…just gorgeous! They look so happy and that’s what makes this so beautiful.” .. “Look at the new bride’s smile! Deepika is clearly enjoying dressing up as a newlywed.” You get the drift? Body language is as much a part of overall appearance along with sartorial choices.

I am all for cleaning up the comment section as long as you feel equally charitable towards celebrities beyond your personal favorites. Next time someone rakes Vidya Balan through coals for her arm crook, I hope you will stand up for her and point out how that has nothing to do fashion, based on your logic. And that Madhuri Dixit poses with crooked arms all the time but nobody criticizes her for that. Or Kareena’s pouting.

And the way the guests at this wedding have dressed up in gowns and jumpsuits, has left little doubt in anybody’s mind that the memo must have been to pretend like this is standard award ceremony, so my original comment on styling stands.

In times when celebrities including Deepika Padukone invest resources on acquiring fake social media followers, no doubt it shocks people that different opinions exist outside of the echo chambers of social media fan clubs. Enough said.

          • As far as I know, genuine laughter is an involuntary expression of someone’s inner state. It’s not akin to an arm crook or a fake pout.

It’s not just your comment, it’s throughout her posts people complain about her laughing and I just fail to understand why she has to ration her laughter, especially at her own wedding. Look at priyankas wedding photos, same deal – is it that hard to believe they might be having the time of their lives (yes, even if they have done so twice before?). Half the time in these videos it’s obvious she’s interacting with the media and they are making her laugh and cracking jokes at her. I don’t know maybe I like to assume the best in people, certainly doesn’t mean I’m her fan (which I am not).

And seriously I wasn’t disagreeing with your comment on this being any award show styling. I agree, but IF they are going western – imo it’s hard to stand out from award shows because everyone is always OTT and dressed in to the nines. I myself didn’t understand having a red carpet at a reception lol. But I know sonams invite said either or as well for the dress code

I think if people are going to justify personal attacks on hhc, it’s probably a good idea to come up with a better excuse than the strawman “but what about when so and so said this” – it’s too derivative

      • She did not get the memo from the dermotologist- smiling that much is really really bad for wrinkles!!!

at least she is not pouting.

and what would be the ideal facial expression for a wedding? with this many events one has to get creative right

  5. The best look by the duo so far. Contrasting as opposed to matching. Letting hair down instead of sticking. Ease. Glow. Laughter. The works!

However this could be any gala award look!

  9. The dress looks much better in real life. Deepika looks fab in it.

BUT, the couple pictures are all really bad though; why are they all in darkened, cluttered looking, uber-upholstered, semi-claustrophobic spaces? Did the photographer have a mental block? All the couple pictures look like the same except for the clothes. Also here, the veil is OTT. Reminds me of the adage, before you leave home, take one thing (accessory) off.

  11. Ranveer looks dashing! I was really really really thinking if I were to have such a wedding with so many receptions and parties I would love to wear a lovely ornate Zuhair Murad (honest to god) it seems I have telephatic powers ;) :-p.
But I guess my telepathic powers were limited. There are some absolutely stunning Zubair Murad pieces that are muted but so elegant, classy. As nice as this change of pace is (and was anticipated) how I wish she had picked on of those beautiful pieces over this! But having said that Deepika looks great! I think just not seeing her with that hair and that over accessorised looks drowning in jewellery is in itself a big relief. She is anyway a beautiful girl and this look is right up her alley! Still I wish… oh seeing her in one of his stunning ornate pieces would have been something! I don’t know if they are weddIng’d out or not but I think I am done commenting’d out :) wish them lots of luck and love ?

  15. She does look nice but for another occasion – not her wedding reception. Guess I’m old school, but weddings are traditional affairs and I absolutely detest this gown at wedding trend.

    • I dont think receptions are traditional affairs. It is a modern and western tradition and not part of Hindu culture of religion. I think this is okay for the non religious non traditional and Indian affair.

  18. Wow! Love the look! Really enjoyed every look from their Wedding, especially the Love and Electric chemistry between them.

And as a reflection from someone who is a regular reader of this blog for years…For the last two weeks, what I though was a fashion blog was turned to a troll fest with people who could not stand what they wore or all the reception they did , but could not resist to comment on anyway with a lot of harshness ….never saw so much vile comments and bile HHC before.

    • Its a fashion blog. Not a ‘oh ah love the electricity between them ‘ fan blog. For many, their sartorial choices were dissapointingly tacky. I assure you there is no personel vendetta here.
To each his own, right ?

      • I agree with you, it is a fashion blog and critique on the outfits are welcome,…and with the same logic the comments on the number of reception they organize, the money they spent ,PR event etc…also do not belong to this forum.
Also, does critique need to be harsh and full of bile? I saw many decent critiques which brings the point across in a nice way …but some comments were full of hate and vile
I do not think trolling needs any personal vendetta…people will think before saying those hate filled comments on anyones wedding if it is in person. I think the anonymity of these forums allow for such hatred and that’s why some of us engage in it and spoil great fashion blogs like HHC for others.

    • So true! I’ve been complaining about her smoky eyes since her Konkani wedding !

It’s a gothic look – to be saved for nightclub outings. Most importantly does not photograph well at all !

less dramatic eyes, with a bit of red lip would have been a better choice.
