Well Suited?

Mr. Singh sported two very vibrant suits back to back, first in a kitschy Genes Lecoanet Hemant one and then in a pink Sunil Mehra paired with a Sahil Aneja shirt.

Between the two, much preferred him in the blue. I would’ve liked the pink one if the jacket didn’t have that contrast piping. Which one was your favorite? Or should I ask, which of the two was the lesser evil? :P

  1. Tacktastic as always and forced! Ranveer Singh is trying so hard to stand out and crossed the line so far and deep, that he does not even know the line is anymore. And neither do his cousins – Sonam, Janhvi, Rhea, Khushi, Arjun Kapoor — what is wrong with this family??

    • Wait what? His cousins?
I think you may have Ranbir and Ranveer mixed up

And I don’t see Ranveer as equivalent to Sonam, Jahnvi, Khushi…how come across as dressing up to be fashionistas. Ranveer seems like he dresses up for himself and doesn’t care about the world. And as much as I don’t care for his aesthetic I find that aspect charming

      • If you think Ranveer is only dressing up for himself without caring about what the world thinks and not using it as part of his image as much as any of the women you’ve mentioned, I’m sorry but all I can do is laugh.

        • Dear P&P,
As I long-time reader of this blog, I am confused why my comment in response to Meg was removed? The comment section in HHC often gives way to interesting discussions among commentators, which is one the highlights of the blog and engages many readers, passively and actively. In chain threads/discussions, if a different opinion is offered, original posts are not removed.
Why this exception then? I am dismayed at your decision to remove my comment and it feels like censorship, which is not something I associated HHC with!

            • Isn’t celebrity identity an integral part of their brand identity and fashion choices? I feel that is the substantive implication of this discussion. So why was my post the one to be removed?

              • Again, in this case, comments that came after yours made the thread go in a different direction and when that happens, we just un-approve the whole thread.

      • Yeah .. most people are related internally in Bollywood to someone or the other.. there aren’t really newcomers or outsiders for ages.
If not Bollywood they are from known parents for sure.. sports stars/ singers/older actors..

  2. Wearing clown clothes works is cool in a circus and a kiddo party. Wearing those on any other occasions…. you make a fool of yourself, just as this man.

  3. Love this guy, his spirit and his ability to have so much fun with fashion. Till he came along, menswear was just more of the same. He truly spices things up.
    Love both looks!

  4. He looks super tacky in both! At this point, he just wants the attention for dressing differently without actually making sure it works together

  5. You know I love this guy for being different but DOES IT SERIOUSLY HAVE TO BE F****** EVERY TIME?!!!!???!!!!!!
Sometimes a nice, good tailored, smart suit, in a decent color with a sharp crisp button down shirt is absolutely OK.

    p.s. I love Ranveer Singh

  6. Does he ever wear normal clothes? A look like his seems fun when its unexpected and rare. Now he really seems to be trying too hard to live upto this image.

  7. The black piping actually brings out or highlights the rose colour. In a way breaks the monotony. Else it’s not easy on our eyes. He always risks wearing theses weird and tacky clothes which normally no one prefers

  8. Serious question: are such suits custom made for him? Or are they made by the designer for anybody? In which case, who else wears these outfits?

    • Coloured or printed suits are easily available at luxury brands like zegna.. which do menswear. It’s all about the person who wears them to make it look better or worse. I often feel lankier men look better in such attire or models actors from west. Not really loved it on any Indian male celeb so far. It requires a certain laid back yet crisp persona.. ranveer is completely otherwise but it’s nice to see him do different.. can’t imagine him in normal clothes n I’m really good with it.
