At their Bengaluru reception, Ranveer was seen in an embroidered Rohit Bal sherwani and Deepika wore a sari from a local store Angadi Silks gifted to her by her mother with jewellery from Sabyasachi’s fine jewellery line.

  1. According to Sabya’s insta post, the saree is a gift from her mom not MIL. Just “aligning some facts” to straighten out an already tortuous situation! ;-)

  2. Sabya should start realising that there are more interesting looks that can be styled for a bride. The middle parting tight bun with gajra is so repetitive. Although deepika looked out of the world, I must say that to me, Ranveer definitely stole the thunder. How dapper he looks in every single outfits, be it pre, during or post wedding.

    • Yes, I have to agree with you, this is no competition but Ranveer surprised me with his looks throughout the wedding festivities. This look is a bit too stern for Deepika.

  3. same sticky hair, same bindi, same as anushka’s reception, same style of jewellery. WTF is sabyasachi styling and not just sticking to designing clothes! her hair stylist needs to be fired.

  4. Deepika’s wedding saree was her mum’s gift from Angadi Silks. This one too?
Whatever. They look timelessly gorgeous. Rarely do celeb wedding pix spontaneously evoke a ‘bless them’ — but these do.

      • Angadi Silks is not in Kanchipuram, how can you call it the best ? They are fabulous kanchipuram saree stores all over kanchipuram and Chennai – namely Tulsi silks, Nalli silks. Poonai… poonai.

        • I have been to Kancheepuram and my whole family and extended family get all their sarees from Angadi Silks. Believe me when I say Angadi is the best of the best. They stock the classiest most elegant and unique silk sarees I’ve ever seen.

  5. Her Konkani wedding saree was also from local store. Hope everyone can stop complaining now about only ever wearing designer.
Even if it’s a look we have seen mumtiple times, she really does look great, but that white blouse is ruining the look for me. As for the jewelry, not a huge fan of this choker but deepika makes it look better than it is.

    • By white blouse I mean either the colour or the full sleeve high+neck design of the blouse just seems off to me. Maybe something different here would have worked better. Such a dream of a woman to dress up yet people fail her.

  6. Love them. I find Deepika most beautiful in Bollywood but why she is doing this to herself. Sabhyasachi is no stylist, he just knows one style. He makes beautiful clothes and jewelry but he knows only one hair style. (and it seems like that choker is actually choking her).

  7. Wow, 3rd time in a row Ranveer looks terrific. Such a classy kurta one that he wears so well!
Deepika’s saree is so gorgeous! And so terribly let down by such non creative boring ridiculous styling that it makes me want to cry! Ranveer’s upward trend and Deepika’a downward trend is thus far coordinating well!-

  8. I liked her hairstyle here because if she had decided to go looser with her hair, the jewelry and the neck of the blouse would have made it look too crowded. Plus I am glad she wore the blouse she did otherwise’ hello OTT Rekha’!

  10. Timeless and classic! For both of them. I know a few of us don’t like this look and find it repetitive, but DP who could dress up in so many ways for her reception reflects her choice of designer and styling. I for one love it !

  11. ranveer has been managing to outshine her as far the whole wedding is concerned. Terrible makeup and uninspired styling. Didn’t really love anyone from the major stars getting married but Sonam is ridiculously beautiful and managed to carry off her looks. Anushka had a lovely lehenga too, the pastel suited her.

  12. Ranveer looks very nice while Deepika’s look is a little boring with a Rekha saree and signature Sabya styling. I loved her wedding Kanjeevaram from Angadi silks and she could’ve chosen a gorgeous Gadwal or a majestic Mysore silk. Also we have seen this tightly pulled bun on Deepika (and other Sabya women) countless times. She would’ve really benefited from a different hairstyle.

  13. Loving Ranveer’s look way better. He has been looking really gorgeous in all the pre and post functions and I’m not really a fan. For Deepika I like the fact that she has been wearing Kanjeevarams from local stores but the chipku hairstyle for every function is a complete downer. Sabya should stick to designing clothes and jewellery, his styling game is lame.

  14. Ranveer looks SO dapper-he has been knocking it out of the park. I haven’t seen a bridegroom this well-dressed. Deepika is ethereal and looks stunning as well. I love the jewels and the saree but agree that a change in hairstyle would have done more justice to the overall look.

  15. Is she really wearing a full sleeve white blouse?? WHY???
Agree with many of the posters re: the chipkoo hair bun. Even the textured bun she she wore at the airport would have fared better. Deepika the one with all her beauty and Ranveer was the one who stands out in this version..

    • +1000 I had the exact same feeling of deja Vu!! Kangana was looking divine and timeless. The saree is gorgeous on deepika but some originality in styling is remiss.

    • Damn this is soooo similar, could be same. Also, just realised how Deepika’s saree is completely clashing with ranveers embroidered sherwani jacket, it’s like both are dressed for 2 very different occasions.

    • Yes, the similarity is unmistakable. Kangana was looking amazing and this repeated styling really takes away from the look in that we have seen better versions.

  16. I am swooning over Ranveer here.. but a part of me also wishes he does a Clark Kent and there is a whimsical “Ranveer” type shirt underneath that Kurta.
As for Deepika..lady you need to let your hair down literally.. as many have already said this tight bun,big jewelry is a total snooze fest. The saree is so gorgeous and the styling here feels like a wasted opportunity.

  17. She is looking gorgeous. But when i saw immedietely i could relate to Anushka sharma’s reception look. God this guy needs to change this hair style and that blouse ruined the look. She got such a pretty and lovely saree and got such a beautiful face..
he ruined it with the same look and the blouse .. does he should give some nice colourful contrast blouse. am i only one feeling it. God.. Deepika hoping her receptions in Mumbai will be good. She looks great naturally. Agree its her day but that blouse skrewed it big time.:(.. I love her so much..

  18. Guess she is wearing this saree to go with red chooda that she has to wear for sometime. Wearing red wud have been repetitive and may be that why she decided to wear what she is wearing…. Deepika has stuck to very traditional Indian style wedding n rituals n really kudos to both of them for being normal n relatable. Good wishes:)

  19. I am so disappointed in Deepika’s look. I am a fan of both Sabyasachi and Deepika, but this look should be hidden from public view. There is nothing new about this …a similar saree has been worn by Kangana with the same length blouse, the pulled back slick hair done to death by Deepika and Anushka had the same look for her reception with THAT much sindoor, the choker with the pearls together is not pleasing on the eye.

Although the clothes styling is disappointing. Ranveer and Deepika look happy and that is all that matters at the end of it all.

  20. I loved every single look this far but the all gold saree and white blouse was not my cup of tea at all.
It didn’t have character or anything classic or stand out about it. She still manages to look gorgeous as her beau as well :)

  21. Liked Ranveer’s look. For Deepika, everything works except that emerald necklace is an eyesore. That band around the neck is just not doing anything for her. Feels more like a spondylitis patta unfortunately…. minus that and it’s a lovely look,

  23. Ranveer has got it spot on on all occasions . Deepika as beautiful as she is, has been let down by the stylist. I may be in the minority but I find the saree also underwhelming. Feels like a sheet of gold wrapped around . Kanchivarams come is such vibrant colours,- this is just lack lustre -very Rekha . And the choker oh goodness. Wish she would try something less coarse on the neck.

  24. Don’t like the jewels particularly the choker but I am so delighted that she chose to wear a kanjivaram ‘as it is’ bought from a local store. That is such a wonderful move. With all the crappy lehengas and modified sarees in the name of a designer tag these celebrities wear, I am glad she chose to keep it simple and relatable. Color is her choice and they both look happy.

    • That is thanks to her mom, she wore two sarees straight from a store without Sabyasachi attaching tacky border to it. But still Sabya tried to ruin it with his boring styling.

  26. That emerald choker seems to be controversial on this forum. I would like to say Indian emeralds and pearls has long been a go to combination for maharajas, and it fits in well with the Sabya theme. I think it looks fantastic, very Maharani Gayatri Devi.

  27. So underwhelmed by this look. Hope she doesn’t repeat the severe hair and the color palette for the Mumbai reception. Why isn’t she dressing in more Indian bridal colors! There are so many gorgeous, vibrant colors. Maybe a fatigue sets in when there are so many events and ceremonies involved in a celebrity shadi these days.

  28. The saree needed a better blouse maybe a matching gold one or a contrasting red one to match with the choora bangles. The contrast with the emerald jewels would have been highlighted in that way. Agree that the hair should have been in a softer wispy bun style too. The sindoor and gajra look really nice.

    • Agreed, a green blouse would have made the look so striking. esp with the green in the choker. A bit underwhelmed by this look considering her lake como looks were so gorgeous.

    • But as a person from South, I say that deepika let Sabyasachi ruin the sari with ugly blouse and jewellery. She should have worn the sari matching blouse with shorter sleeves.

  30. Deepika’s look is classy and understated. One I think people from south can identify with. Most of the weddings here have this gold or red pure zari Kanchipuram silk. So happy to see her stick to traditions on occasions like this

    • Yes! And as one such person from the south I am especially disappointed at the relentless butchery of the beautiful saree with the horrendous styling! I know I am spamming and I know styling and fashion are deeply personal things. But somehow I am simply unable to digest this is in the name of Sabyasachi styling or sabya theme or whatever

I love emeralds but this doesn’t work. How about the blouse piece that came with the sari or a red/green blouse to contrast the sari . Not this white full length crop top

  31. Best wishes to the couple :-)

I loved what Deepika’s mother had worn for the reception – very elegant mother-of-bride look.

Payal and Priyanka, will you be covering her mother’s look from the event?

  32. I find Sabyasachi’s styling very boring. Rather than the styling bringing out the individuality of the women, it’s a cookie-cutter look – oiled back hair, gajra, oodles of heavy jewellery and long sleeved blouse, in a hark back to the 50s or 30s or something. This choker really looks like it’s trying to choke-her. Blouse is too monotone with the saree. Deepika is gorgeous but she needs to have a more fun look, this is rather ajji style

  33. sari from a ‘ local store ‘ ? that’s a real zari handwoven kanjeevaram which even a million sabyasachi’s can’t make ! something that will be an heirloom for generations. sad to see the language.
