Methinks she should have stuck to Sabyasachi..there is way too much going on in that outfit.
but this was for a tv event, and u know how everyone is always so dressed way over the top. I’m just glad she didn’t wear a heluva lot of jewellery as is usualy the case.

Isn’t this outfit color/design/material/fabric etc very similar to a MM saree that Kareena wore to one of the awards functions earlier this year?
ah yes Anon! it does have similarities! ur talkin bout the sari that kareena wore in 2 colours. once red and once blue?

The reason it is similar is because the saris that Kareena wore were also Manish Malhotra.
yeh i know. lol and i remember in some post u also said that mostly designers tend to use the same style for their designs in one launch. something to that effect.

You pick a theme when you design for a collection, so the styles are similar, reusing the same fabrics for different ranges in the same collection.

i love the dupatta with the dots n beading but hate the blue line – wth is that?!! the rest of it – not so much. rani couldnt pull off this outfit. whoever said black is slimming needs to see ms. rani in this dress!
this outfit doesn’t work on her the same manner in which it would have worked on a runway model
i think its too contrasty for someone with her figure type…
btw how come rani makes such little public apperances? is her career not working out, or she is a “private” person
Such a bore. Everything is so typical. Behenji looks and makeup, those usual long earrings. That same ole hair. This woman has been in a fashion rut for so long she makes me yawn. Such a pity! I thought she looked amazing in the Koffee with Karan episode where she wore a maroon dress.

I dunno. Lots of designers make big boo-boos. Look at Surily Goel for Ta Ra Rum Pum, Abu Jani – Sandeep Khosla for Vidya Balan’s orange Filmfare atrocity.. Compared to that stuff, MM’s black dress is tame and boring but not hideous.
I donno if it is the dress or if it is Rani herself. No matter what she does…I cant bring myself to like Rani :(
