White Out

It was cream and white for Rani at Sonam’s mehendi ceremony with her wearing a lace trim top with jacquard pants, an Alaia bag and Dolce & Gabbana pumps. Considering the ceremony, I would’ve been scared to wear white! :P

She looked lovely though.

  1. Apparently the invites had said ‘festive shades of white’ for the mehendi. Coming to Rani, it looks more like she is attending a casual dinner or something rather than a mehendi; I wish she dressed up a bit more.

  2. Apparently everyone (including brides sister – Rhea) was wearing white, sitting on white sofa with white pillows. Now that’s a bit scary and nerve racking.

  3. I believe the theme for the mehendi function was Indian festive wear in shades of white. That being said, still don’t like the outfit pick; a bit too casual.

  4. I would understand if Rani lived outside India and did not have easy access to Indian clothes. This is an Indian shadi in India so it shouldnt have been that hard for Rani to find something suitable. This is hardly something one wears to a mehandi. I dont like her outfit one wee bit.
That said, I wouldnt pick pick white theme for a mehandi.

  5. As usual not dressing according to either one or all – body, age, occasion or weather. At least she is not tacky this time around.

  6. Ugh… I am a huge fan of Rani and it’s irritating to see that she is dressed as she’s about to have dinner in a restaurant than attend a mehendi ceremony…disappointing:(

  7. Rani’s clothes rarely fit her correctly and whatever she does wear rarely looks…ahem ‘polished’
So much access so little effort.

  9. Like others said, the dress code was white but this is such an inappropriate look. She isn’t going to brunch, its someone’s wedding for God’s sake! A Sanjay Garg saree (like the off white, striped one that Deepika wore for Padmavat promotions) or a Coloroso white banarasi would’ve looked gorgeous on her.

  10. Oh the great sartorial tragedy of Rani Mukerji! The one time she is styled really well and it turns out to be event-inappropriate!
