In Aparna Chandra for Nicobar

Comment image 14

Wearing separates from the Aparna Chandra for Nicobar collection, Radhika attended promotions for Pataakha on Wednesday. She looked cute.

On an aside, considering Nicobar mostly carries wallet-friendly options, this collection’s price tag surely took me by surprise. Even when labels like H&M/Target do collabs, the pricing of the capsule collections are not that high. Your thoughts?

You can see the collection here. (P.S. Please be advised that the India prices are also a bit lower than the US ones.)

  1. I have to agree with you guys, I was taken aback when I saw the price tags. The collection is beautiful but can’t say I would pay that much for it.

  2. That’s exactly my thought! Although I love Nicobar and this particular collection was oh so glamorous, quite different from what they make normally but the price tag took me by surprise, would rather buy Heer (Raw Mango) then a gown from Midnight Wonderland.

  3. Super insanely priced!!!

I also feel that the collection isn’t even edited well and misses out on some of key the ‘Nicobar Staples’. But alas these are the times we are living in where the pricing of designer wear isn’t justified at all!

  5. Most of their designs, be it higher end or affordable look very ill fitted on the model so I don’t know how are they working well in the market. Like the crotch is a problem on both the ladies. Their stringy dresses tug from the bust on the model and us mortals as well. Wouldn’t look at Nicobar for their clothing ever. Their home and lifestyle curation though!

  6. What is even more ridiculous is that Aparna Chandra had copied the exact clutch of Monsoon Accessorize and called it vintage hand clutch !! I own the EXACT same clutch from 15 years ago. It can’t even be called inspiration – it’s DITTO COPY. ridiculous when designers charge crazy prices for copied stuff ! It’s actually shameful.

  7. Considering Nicobar’s pocket friendly stuff this is Highly overrated. Besides, most designs like the knot dress is a Nicobar original. So, paying 4 times for a “designer” fabric!!!!
