  1. Priyankas Saree and glasses reminds me of the song ‘ tum ne mari entriyan dil main bhaji ghantiyan’ Nick shud have chosen a different colour considering khakhi is worn by people working in public transport in India.

    • Wow, sometimes the comments here leave me gobsmacked!

Genuinely wondering what is so wrong about choosing a colour that’s worn by public transport service providers…

      • Absolutely nothing! However one doesn’t want to look like the one unless you are essaying a role. No one dresses khaki in India head to toe knowing they will end up looking postman/policeman/autowala be it any strata of people. Now they are not disrespecting these professions!

Ps: all the professions are respected by me and I am proud of my country less it debate goes in different tangent.

        • to all those clutching their pearls at Nikpik’s “public transportation employee” – where does the implied disrespect come from? If someone wears all white, would mentioning they look like nurses / tennis players mean outright ridicule for those professions? i wore a crisply starched cotton sari the other day and my friends said i look like a school teacher, should i demand apologies from them on behalf of my teacher associates?

seriously, this trend of “easily offended” mock outrage needs to die down, like last week!

  2. No Good! Not the saree, not the glass and not the khaki suit!
On a side note P&P you guys really need to start giving your verdict on wedding looks, and airport looks post the wedding. Y’all are bloggers. Nothing should be holding you back.

    • Agree. We’re here for your thoughts, P&P! Not just the press releases! Tell us what you think, and why/how — show your work :).

Part of the problem of Bollywood (vs Hollywood and other industries) is that the universe is so very small that everyone’s afraid of everyone else and you need to suck up to the most powerful people in charge, whether they’re right or wrong (*ahem* KJO *ahem*). But YOU guys aren’t beholden to them and shouldn’t be afraid to give out constructive fashion feedback like y’all used to.

      • We’ve said it before and we will say it again. We do not comment on newly weds on their wedding looks. Every other event is fair game. It is their choice what they want to wear during a ceremony that is very important to them and it is the one time, we let things be.

        • But then why post wedding updates here at all? I guess it’s only fair game for commenters to reserve their views too then? I respect your choice, but your logic is flawed.

        • Thank you so much Payal. This is why I love you guys. Fashion critique, even for celebrities, have a context and that should be respected.

        • But this look isn’t from the ceremony. This is an airport look which monster you’ll have popularized. So for how long are ‘newly-weds’ off the hook?

          • Haha. Believe me, we only started airport looks because that’s where stars used to dress like themselves until they even used it for styled appearances. Oh well. As for when, once their receptions are over. :)

        • I understand you do not want to comment on wedding looks. But I don’t get the logic – why just their wedding, it is also their choice what they want to wear to the gym, shopping, lunch with friends, airport and travel etc. Those are all personal moments too and the stars are off-duty. By this logic, only work related looks should be critiqued – movie promotions, product launches, award shows and events.

How ever it is your blog and you have the prerogative to choose what you want or don’t want to comment on. In my opinion, if you are trying to keep clear of negativity on someone’s special day hence not critiquing the look, you should also not open the comments section for others to comment. As you’ve seen for every wedding post, so much hate can build up and people go from commenting on fashion to debates on feminism to what not.

          But that’s just my opinion!

          • This! I agree whole heartedly. But I don’t get why alot of people seem to be going on and on about them not commenting even after they have given you the reason (whether one agrees with it or not).
It’s their blog and their prerogative. If you find it boring, if you have seen pictures elsewhere and you don’t want to come here to just see the pictures then the answer is obvious isn’t it. Why constantly try to nag them to make a comment when they don’t want to.

  3. Love it! I think Priyanka let her sartorial choices dominate over Sabya’s styling. She kept it simple and practical for travel . And I like it that Nick is not trying to too hard to appear Indian.

    • Top comment. I feel like I don’t care how she styled the sari as long as she didn’t look like a Sabya clone.

On a side note, I am finding it a bit surprising to see the number of Bollywood brides that have embraced the sindoor, mangalsutra and chooda in the post-wedding days. I suppose this is fairly common amongst Punjabi/Sindhi brides and the brides (Anushka/DP/PC) are from this culture?

      • I don’t think sindoor and mangalsutra are only restricted to Punjabi/Sindhi brides and chooda is now embraced by most North Indian brides because they look really beautiful. And if at all it is important to know-I believe Anushka and PC are Punjabis and DP is married to a Sindhi. So one should no be surprised to see them wearing chooda. That is a beautiful way of accepting the culture of the spouse.

  4. I love the color of the sari and the fact that is so practical for traveling! Not over the top and beautiful! I would lose the glasses but again it serves the practical purposes. She owns every look of hers and looks very comfortable.

  5. It looks like she walked off the set of a TV serial after essaying the role of a tacky vamp. For him, I have a question. Is there any mail for me ??

  6. Saw pics on Insta first n my first thought was- “sasti Sabya saree”. I mean the design is very Sabya-ish but material looks very cheap/ synthetic types. Had saree been worn by any ordinary folk, no one would have guessed it is designer wear. Looks like cheap version of original stuff which it is obviously not. Can someone tell what material it is?

    • There is nothing like designer grade sari and non designer grade sari. Sabya kanchivaram saris look cheap compared to the ones you get in famous shops. Masaba saris are the cheapest looking.

  7. Amazing stamina by PC to be traveling non stop, having a high energy wedding celebration and still looking so fabulous! I would be in sweats and sneakers, with a cup of coffee and a smile that says “do not disturb me”. What I love about this wedding is how much fun everyone is having vs. the clothes. I have to give PC props for not making it about the clothes or the perfect poses. I also love that she brought such an large American entourage to India and showed them how much fun designs weddings are. Right now, all I feel is sheer admiration for PC.

    • Oh man…you are really living in your little bubble here. All the pictures that you’ve seen this far were posed and she is selling her wedding pics to People’s magazine for an undisclosed amount, that’s precisely why there hasn’t been any pictures on social media yet. So much for keeping it spontaneous and fun!!

  8. I’m in the minority here….I like the saree. Granted it’s not a typical I got married hours ago saree, but the color is lovely; quite different and the embroidered flowers look so delicate; retroish? Not too crazy about the sunnies though.

  9. Well done on Priyanka for dressing for herself and not playing up to the expectations of the masses by portraying Sabya looks which are simply copies of each other. She is not trying to capitalise on her wedding and does not need to orchestrate picture perfect hair, make up, poses to please people. She is enjoying her life and her time. To the haters, give yourself a break.

    • She has literally capitalized on her wedding by selling the exclusive pictures to a magazine. On the other side, I’d bet she got into a fat contract to promote Jodhpur as a wedding destination to American audiences.

    • She has capitalised on her wedding fyi. The pictures have been sold to People magazine and she/Nick will be making good moolah out of the perfectly orchestrated picture perfect photos set in an Indian palace.

  10. I think those razored ends with the middle parted hair is sooooo dated and so repititive on PC. And the sunglasses look out of place and cheap l/plastic-y.

But the favouritism for PC here amazes me. When she’s repetitive with her looks it’s sticking to her strengths. When deepika will do the same it’s boring and repittive.
How is PC’s wedding not about the clothes or the poses??? She hasn’t even released her official wedding photos yet so we cant know what it’s about, and the ones she did release are also heavily curated with “candid” poses. The only difference is there are non-official cell phone photos of her festivities floating around and she released a heavily edited video.
I don’t get how someone can conclude that one wedding was necessarily more fun for the people involved while others were too focused on their appearance simply by looking at still photos. But okay.

  11. Someday (probably in 2019 when this stupid trend has died out), Chopra will look back at all her pictures with these narrow bug glasses and feel shame and regret. She will then breathe fire at (as well as actually fire) her 23 year old stylist. Her stylist will then pack her liberal arts degree, her calming crystals, her tarot cards, her GOOP cream and other L.A. paraphernalia and go on a trip funded by her parents. On this trip, she will realise that it was her shallow relationship with a physical trainer boyfriend that caused her to be rash and make poor decisions. Until that day, we all have to endure this ridiculous trend.

  12. The saree is super ugly and those shades should be ditched immediately, it just does not put Priyanka’s round face. And what the hell is Nick wearing. These celebs are clueless about fashion and style most of the time.

  13. I like the fact that these are not perfect looks, that they are not colour co-ordinated, and most importantly, while Priyanka is wearing a Sabyasachi, has steered well clear of his styling directives!

And imagine she telling nick that u Hv to dress up for the airport travel as everyone will be judging us ! ( actually that’s what I think deep veer told each other and thus the perfect matching proper outfits) they are relaxed n enjoying themselves. .. and that’s what I love about them.
