In Elie Saab

Priyanka and Nick attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday evening where she was seen wearing a black Elie Saab gown with her hair in an updo.

She looked good!

  1. Did you see her sandals. There are pictures of it. Very in appropriate sandals for american formal events. Ill fitting strappy black sandals with toes exposed.

        • I’m not sure what you’re talking about – there is absolutely no rule anywhere that states that you can’t wear open toed sandals/heels to a formal event, especially if we are talking award ceremonies. IF that were the case, every single celebrity out there would be in close toed shoes- which is not the case. If Kate Middleton (who is royalty) can wear open toed heels to posh/formal events then I can’t see why anyone else can’t.

    • This is the first time am hearing something like this!! These are perfectly acceptable. Majority of the women wore high heel sandals for the Vanity after party!

      • Ok ladies if you have time please google the exact sandals PC is wearing under this dress. Her foot is slipping off the sandal in front. No it is not appropriate etiquette to wear that kind of sandals for a formal party. On top of it they are ill fitting. Good night.

        • I think we need to broaden our horizons about what’s “acceptable” – Frances McDormand showed up on Oscar stage wearing berkenstocks and Tina Fey attended the after-party in converse sneakers. So please calm down on accepted trends!

    • The only place where open toe shoes are a no-no is inside a research lab where one works with hazardous (or even non-hazardous chemicals for that matter because- spills) material. #factsonly

At the VF party though, I’m pretty sure PC could have more than handled a bit of libation spill.

      • Now that we switched to work place dressing, Indians in US are notorius for bad dressing sense. So sad to know not many here know what professional dressing is. Priyanka is also fresh off the boat, she will soon learn appropriate dressing from her american family.

        • Honey, she is not “fresh off the boat”! She is fierce and setting her own rules (which I think every human on this planet is entitled to do). Since the best fashion critiques from around the world applaud her style and confidence, don’t think she needs to learn “appropriate dressing” from anyone. She seems to be doing perfectly fine on her own.

While we are at it, I wish to add that I live abroad and have seen plenty of Indians dress exceptionally well to work. Sometimes, I spot some who are not perhaps in trendy professional clothes but they are always dressed in clean ironed clothes and polished shoes. They are also extremely humble and hard-working. Generally, I refrain from making any personal comments on this blog but I do feel that your statement is in really poor taste. On a lighter note, WHITE IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT :)

The way you dress is more closely related to the sector in which you work. What works in the finance sector would be too extra in the non profits. What may work on the red carpet in Hollywood would be totally out of place in the UN or World Bank, and vice versa. PC is dressed just as well or badly as the next celebrity, and let that not be a function of her nationality.

Also, such large statements are always self-contradictory. Are ALL westerners well-dressed? Absolutely not? Are all Indians terribly dressed? I would not agree at all. Please. These prejudices and stereotypes do not help anyone! She is dressed because of her PERSONALITY and preferences.

        • Wow! You are so out of line here. “Indians are notorious”, “fresh off the boat”…. go to sleep. Hopefully you’ll wake up a better person.

        • I think post with rude comments such as ‘fresh off the boat’ should not be allowed. And Indians who are born and brought up in america should realise that many people in india who have never lived abroad have much more money than them and are living much better lives. Many of my friend in India go the south of france, bahamas, etc and many nris I know in America do not have that sort of lifestyle.

        • Well her stylist is not stupid and she knows way more better than you know about fashion and rules plus I think you are just a hater and you haven’t seen Shay Mitchell sandals similar to Priyanka’s or Chrissy teigan’s or the rest of the other actresses footwear.

  2. I love the dress but not on PC. The waist hits her at a lower point throwing the proportions off. I loved her shimmery silver eye makeup though.

  3. For the first time I felt that they both looked on par age wise! And lovely. Not that there is anything wrong with an older woman partner, its just that Nick looks really handsome here, not a kid. As for the other comments, it looks like the fan brigade from Pink villa is here! Uh Oh!

  4. This looks like a prom gown honestly. I’m not loving it but Nick and her do look cute together! I also wish she would wear more bright colours which would really suit her gorgeously bronzed skin tone more than this dull black.

  5. Way way way better than her previous appearances in decolletage baring outfits. This one is classy unlike one pink and gold number she wore a while ago.
Her makeup in hollywood is exceptional. But then everyone (Frieda, Preeti) looks great…makes me wonder if the lighting for these events is really well done.
