In Fendi

Parineeti spoke at the second edition of Behtar India campaign wearing a Fendi dress with Gianvito Rossi pumps.

Wearing two Italian labels, that too one featuring a logo at a campaign for bettering India? Am I the only one thinking how out of place this outfit was? First Kareena and now Parineeti.

  1. Just curious shouldn’t you guys just be critiquing or praising the outfit? I mean does it matter where to wore it to? I don’t think that’s a valid critique. She either looks good or she doesn’t

    • Nope ..wearing correct outfits at events also matters..this is as bad as someone wearing a ghagra for a cocktail pool party

  2. She looks ridiculous in that dress. And since the post does mention event appropriateness, I think it’s pretty obvious by now that Bollywood (most of the time) is a bunch of airheads who don’t realize what to wear and when. Every event they attend is assumed to be a red carpet event to showcase the big designer brands they have access to.

    • Yes, and they open their clueless mouths to “critique” and when public outrage happens they want to be excused because they are “just celebrities” :P
I am appalled at the organizers of ANY event in India, from products, to service to, for profit to not for profit, they all HAVE TO have Bollywood celebrities :)
We get dear Parineeti wearing this “beautiful ultra fashionable” expensive designer outfit to a cause!

      • India is severely Bollywoodized (and tollywoodized if we count TV Josh types ) ..Everywhere. Everything….Even to the extent of war and politics. It’s becoming increasingly painful and embarrassing at the same time. We hardly get to know the real soldiers for any cause.how many know Mr. Bindeshwar Pathak after all? Just saying.

  3. Yes, a bit tone deaf (not just in the choice of label, but also in the style). I wish celebs would take note that, yes, while they are a glam quotient at these events, it is their role as an advocate that matters more.

  4. That was my first thought… Behtar India should be promoted with an Indian designer outfit (that too, if a designer outfit is a must)

  5. Totally ridiculous outfit and absolutely wrong for this event. Why couldn’t she have worn a simple Indian suit or sari? Do these actresses and their stylists don’t have a brain.

    • Even a dress or separates by an Indian designer would have been fab. Why she chose a bandage dress is beyond me (and not just her – it was a team that put this together – baffling that at no point did any one of them think, maybe this is inappropriate).

  6. The dress itself is tactastic at the very least..then the question of even wearing it at the event.
Dear Parineeti please re-read the memo next time.
Wearing a handloom would have been such an apt choice!
As a Indian Celebrity pls do your bit

  7. And this is why when Bollywood talks about national security issues and terrorism and poverty and women’s empowerment we all believe them and root for such causes :P

  8. I think in Parineeti’s case even if Sanjana tried to give her an Indian outfit she would’ve said no.
Have you seen the girl’s Instastories? She’s obsessed with herself and her apparent long love for body con dresses. Whether she was always able to carry it off is another question.

  9. So So wrong for the Event in question, not only the label but also the shoulder baring outfit…I mean, don’t they have enough opportunities to glam up and show skin if they want to? This was definitely not the platform. These celebrities just live in their little bubbles and do not care about anything…every event is a PR opportunity for them. Its time NGOs and organisations trying to make a serious difference boycott these airheads.

  10. Disgusting. Wearing an international brands to a “better” India event? Can they get any dumber? Why can’t they wear some cool handlooms… from cotton to silk? Who says you can’t look youthful and glamorous in a kurta or saree? Shame on them and their fake patriotism.

  11. I completely agree with Payal’s critique that the outfit was not appropriate for the event in question. Also, feel like this outfit looks more athleisure with a touch of glamour. Items with their logos can be aesthetically flaunted without it being too in your face.
