I don’t know whether to laugh, or just shake my head, or both.
I’ve been lamenting about Indian Celebrity advertisements and promotions for a while now. Like SRK who claims not t drink but had no problem shilling for an alcohol company.
Or Amitabh Bachchan who claims that he doesn’t drink soda or the like, but did Pepsi ads till recently (and that maybe because of Ash’s coke status. After the engagement, I don’t think anyone in the family did Pepsi or Coke ads.)

Hmmm…I don’t really find anything wrong with this. This is just responsible of him to actually promote not smoking, what he does do with his life is his business. It would be hypocritical if it weren’t for a campaign! I mean atleast he knows that even though he does smoke but he can’t really endorse it, right?

most people who want to smoke want to quit…and who better to tell people not to smoke than someone who does and regrets it (hopefully)
actually he said he will quit by no tobacco day coz he’s addicted.
so, im not surprised u caught him smoking BEFORE the day. he’s trying to quit and he said he will try to give it up by that day.
so yeah, you should know all the facts before you post something like that….IF you had found a ciggy in his hand the day AFTER no tobacco day, then that would be a diff story.

Hope he quits, if the reason to attend the event was to claim the intention. We shall pray for him!!
IfArjun can use his star status to discourage others from smoking,why not.
What he does in his personal life is his business.
i tend to agree with jaishree etc. its for a good cause. and a little lying will go a long way.
The only way he can support the cause without quitting himself is to allow kids to see the effects of his smoking – unattractive images and footage of him coughing, scans of his lungs and any other defects caused due to cigarettes.
Better yet, lead by example.
I dont see anything wrong in him smoking and advocating no-smoking to others. Like Jaishree said, he is using his status to promote a good cause.It is like people asking to post pictures of the blog’s authors P&P everytime they criticize a celebrity’s style. Or expecting a movie reviewer to make a great film.
