Neha hosted the Critics Choice awards wearing a dress from Shantanu and Nikhil layered with a trench coat from Chola. Jewellery from Curio Cottage finished out her look. It was nice to see her back.

Something about this dress reminds me of the Spanish nobility from the Medieval ages! Madonna dressed up like this at the last Met Gala. Quite a dour look!
Back to frumpy! Aishwarya was criticized for drowning/hiding behind ‘ tents ‘ when She Wore anarkalis after mommyhood. But you r as always biased towards Neha!
Neha looks great. This is her signature style. At least she has a style. Can’t say that about 90% of our actors and actresses.
Agree. I’m slim and I lean towards loose – voluminous – flowing style of clothing. Its a personal preference, got nothing to do with “hiding behind a tent.”
There is voluminous and then there is trying to be an awning.

And her voluminous outfits are also back with her,the kind that only you guys like ?
P & P have a a few favorites (read Neha, Sophie,Nandita, Ashwiny iyer etc) for whom the purpose of this blog takes a backseat.
Irrespective what they turn up wearing its all lapped up..why I would like to know

The earrings are bad , the dress is tent like with fitting issues, the hairstyle is so severe..nothing works about this look

I like her style; she leans in to that look (loose, comfortable-looking, voluminous clothing. ) really really really well. I know because I try. And fail. It’s a hard one :(
I, do, however, wish she’d broken up the black better with some colors or texture, at least. And I don’t know, but those buttons on the dress are really bothering me! :P
She could have chosen something with an interesting print or perhaps diagonal stripes to wear under the coat. Black on black where the colours don’t match just looks awkward.

This is beyond terrible. What on Earth is that ? Kids would get scared looking at someone dressed like this. The color is actually the main issue here. Something so voluminous is a lighter color like white might have been palatable.
Am so over those tassel earrings. That trend is over & it’s not classic – like hoops. Also she has on too many accessories & this voluminous black look is kinda depressing for such an event. It’s like corpse bride at a funeral.
All she needs is a mask and she is set for Halloween .
