In Samuel Dougal

At the New York premiere of Spy, Nargis went black in a backless cape-sleeve gown by Samuel Dougal. Here I was expecting more and what I got was less. Way less.

Those shoes and the limp hair do not do justice to the gown. It needed a stronger finish. So so disappointed.

  1. It’s honestly funny, that in your daze to critique even as an adult you’ve forgotten how to give feedback.
Her clothes are not for you to get disappointed, can you please give effective feedback whether the makeup/styling is good with the dress, and if not what can be done better? That’s why we visit your site, not to read reckless gists likethe one above.

      • I agree with the limpy hair and the shoes, nothing is working in her favour, everyone expected more of her appearance, isnt this her big movie premiere?

    • PMS much?

I disagree with the hair comment as I think it ankle up I think she looks pretty good. The shoes I totally agree with.

    • I totally agree, and in my opinion she looks perfect for the event. It seems that they only like outfits which are dramatic or extremely different to their usual look. Well that’s not everybody’s cupa!!

      • i agree…. she seems to be fan of sonam kapoor and priyanka chopra.. like she gets paid to comment in favor of them

i feel the look is completely rocking..if same outfit sonam kapoor would have worn with heavy bronzer and concealer and some weird jewellery + hairdo, admin would have been going crazy

        • I believe this blog belongs to P&P and they write posts about what they feel is right or wrong as per their like. If I don’t feel that what they are saying is right, I would either simply write my observation in comments or will leave the blog and go where my senses take me… But no points for writing against the bloggers. Getting paid for writing in favour and all, its just like going few levels below I think.

P.S. I like this dress and Nargis is looking good except the shoes.

    • Woah San be! Ease up maybe? Your criticism here was so uncalled for – especially when P&P did give feedback on the styling. Or did you not read thru the second half of the post?

I don’t mind the hair..but the shoes! Remove the heels and they are identical to my grand ma’s shoes which is not a good thing!

      • Completely agree. PnP reserves the right to express what they deemed fit. Its THEIR blog after all. :). What is with the PnP bashing off late?

  2. It’s funny how anyone with straight hair gets a limp hair comment. Abroad straight hair is looked upon as a goog thing. I like the gown. I think it looks great on her.

  3. Are you Nargis’s stylist? Why the angst. I think she clearly mentioned hair and shoes as the areas that would have elevated the look.

  4. Agreed the shoes aren’t great but I think the laid back hair works – it’s a lot more modern than some overstyled bouffant. Plus it’s a premiere, not a red carpet gala event so the dress is perfect for it. Holy heck she is so damn pretty though she could wear sack and still look hot.

  5. I usually do not comment even though I follow the blog religiously! But San be’s comment has actually surprised me. I am appalled at the way you are hitting out at the girls when they have given feedback about the styling. Nargis is a pretty girl who can do way better than the way she fished out that fabulous gown. This is a fashion blog where ppl just want to have some fun, so I guess there is no need of unnecessary criticism where it ain’t required.

  6. I agree that the length of the dress may have been the issue. Also agree that it would be great to get some fashion advice on what would have worked better on her. I look forward to your takes on this. You girls have a good eye so it would help to know how else she could’ve rocked the look. As with other commentators:)

Having said that, I think commentators need to stay away from careless language. Surely we can give feedback in a constructive manner and not make personal attacks. Be constructive. Stay classy.

  7. Totally agree with the hair and shoes not working!! This is such a fab dress which with the proper styling would have really made her look diva-esque!!
P&P – which shoes do you think will go well with this dress?

  8. After a week of over done ruffles, embroidery, flares and blow-outs, I like this understated column gown. This is also what elegance is all about. The length of the dress should have been longer and the shoes more strappy. But, we get to see how pretty Nargis is :).

  9. I completely agree with the bloggers. The look is extremely flat. That hair is crying for help. She killed the drama that this gown was trying to bring. Although, i thought the Red gown she wore was much worse. It looked like a dress you would pick from Ann Taylor. If I were her, I would have gone for a shorter dress for a more fun and flirty young look. This look ages her. Get a new stylist nargis!

  10. I’m with P&P on this – this look is underwhelming.
By the way P&P I love your blog!
I can’t believe people get personal by attacking P&P for their opinions. It’s THEIR blog! P&P have a comments section so we can express our opinions (agree or disagree) about the fashion – there’s no need to tear them down as well.
