In Raw Mango
Nandita attended the Sink Or Swim premiere on Sunday wearing a Raw Mango sari and contrasting green blouse. Having already been in love with this sari/blouse ever since I first saw it on their profile, you can’t blame me for being a bit biased.
Add to that Nandita wearing it no added bells and whistles, just made me love it even more.
Catch her in one of their white suits inside.
How lovely and dignified she looks
yeah dignified.. most importantly.
Elegant and classy.
You see her after watching all those overly pasty makeups, hairdos and colors that must take hours to put togther, and dresses/gowns that need help to carry, and wonder why. Why can the others not be as organic and classy. Love this lady of true grit and substance
I am imagining Aishwarya or Sonam showing up in the Saree n No I wouldn’t want that visual..everybody got their own style own space .. we don’t need to pull others down to appreciate this one …just imho..
In this Saree…*
Exactly, not everyone is doing the same job and cannot be held to the same standard.
Like an NGO worker is probably not comparable to the CEO of a Fortune 500 company – both valuable, both exemplary, but not comparable.
so correct.. but im sure if anybody would dress such it would make another level of impact than the stuff we seen lately. Most of them prefer showing their classiest self on world stage, its our actors who get bullied into theatrics, the level is gone ridiculous by now now.
Like somebody wrote up so well..Dignity.
Cos she doesn’t have to sport a spot of make-up as she is not there as a brand ambassador …
You could be there as anything and dress like you wish, but don’t let any occasion make you turn up like a clown. Her saree or blouse or make up or anything is nothing for the occasion, it’s actually trashy but she still wore what she likes to. She’s there for a movie which is very much a belonging of a film festival, yet dressed so simple. Brands and representation have no attendance value at a film festival.
So stunning and refreshing!!!
She is timeless and ageless.
Simply beautiful.
She is timeless, ageless, dignified, classy and graceful.
Real, beautiful, natural, talented and with great self esteem to appear in a simple silk saree with no make up or strange hair do.
Hear Hear Bollywood mainstream “actresses”: THIS is how you do it! If you want to be considered/seen an actor.
Really? So you have to be a plain jane to be considered/seen as an actor? Who made this rule?
No I’m actually not liking this look at all .. Neena Gupta fared a lot better than her at this age.
The color was a total let down and washed her out.
She cud simply wear a saree May b with another border line or more elegant embroidery.
This saree looks like a normal woman going to a normal events but definately not for Cannes
Would asking for a lipstick be too much of a bell n whistle??
I was on the same flight that Nandita and her family was on and I was stunned to see how much at ease and normal she was with the environment. It appears that walking Cannes red carpet is another day at work for her, more power to her. Since all the others were representatives of brands, their red carpet philosophies were different and I’m happy that we get to see such curated appearance every year.
Someone talked sense!!
I was once on the same flight*
She looks boring and flat. This saree in real life is actually vibrant (I have the same one), but on her somehow, it looks jaded. The white suit is from Sanjay’s New Chikan collection, it looks better though, still nothing to write home about.
Let’s not get carried away and call her a woman of substance simply because she dresses simple without make up ! I mean I’m sure she is, but it’s clear what factors are considered here to arrive at that conclusion
Exactly! Let’s not even get started with her shenanigans in politics. She’s far from a saint.
So her political views dont agree with yours which is why she is far from a saint? Hahaha! Bhakt spotted!
Ouch… so anyone casting stones is a bhakt? you may agree / disagree with Priya (or anyone elses) political thoughts, but calling someone a bhakt blindly just makes no sense!
This is too drab for any occasion… a different coloured blouse might have helped.
I don’t like this at all. That muddy colour is making her look dull instead of fresh/vibrant/lively. She’s worn the saree well but that’s about it.
The event requires a little more dressing up.
It’s quite ironical that this fashion blog almost always appreciates simplicity.
I am rather a fan of Nandita Das’ saree looks, but I have to say, this one doesn’t suit so well, she looks rather washed out.
There’s another appearance of hers in a blush pink saree with Nawaz. p&P you’ve got to put that one up.
I think she wore a similar gold tissue sari to Cannes before. Just this time a shade darker
