Maxi’mum Summer

Comment image 24

Once the temperatures get soaring, out come the maxis. To use the bane of every soccer mom’s fashion vocabulary… they are so “comfy“! :D But really, when chosen correctly, maxis can be that perfect antidote to a scorching summer afternoon.

Clearly, Maria agrees. However, I can’t seem to agree with all of her maxi choices. Some yes, not all. Can you guess which?

  1. for me its the first black and white one..doesnt not fit her right at all…and whats the satiny material.. defies the definition of a cool summer maxi!

  2. i like the last one but i would do it w/o the extra sleeves…bleh!..the 1st one is quite nice..don’t like the hair with it though….

  3. Except for the one in the middle not feeling the rest. The last one may be simply because she’s got that cardigan on top and the bag is bleh with the outfit. The first one just don’t like at all-it almost looks like a watered down formal gown or something.

  4. I like the first one the best.. love the colour of the 2nd one but the fit and accessories are not right..the last one would have been better without the shrug and the bag

  5. I am thinking u don’t agree with the blue maxi she wore at the spa.
my favourite look of the 3 is the one she wore for well done abba premiere.

  6. I do not care for the blue dress in the middle, the shoes are especially bad. the length of the blue dress is neither here nor there.

  7. I will tell you which I liked best of these – the third pic… On the other two – First pic.. I am just not into the kind of hemline the B & W has, though I like it waist up.. the second pic.. a very summer print, fits her well, like the white flats… but the length neither a maxi it is nor a dress..
On the third pic – while many will see – a bolero, she is trying hard to make it look formal (what with the specs, the sandals look like heels) but the dress print is just too casual.. I still like the bolero with the maxi thing.. maybe keep it casual with the right acceesories and shoes…

  8. would have preferred a more dressy look on MG for the WDA premiere…on a personal note…would love to don the blue maxi…perfect for Delhi summers…not a fan of those white sandals though

  9. the first two looks are quite nice for the casual look appropriate to the events she was attending. The last “maxi” was actually nice but all the accessories were distracting. Shrug+glasses+drop earrings+bag that didnt go with the look.

  10. I like the one in black and white that she wore to the Japanese wife premier. I think the red shawl and that bag and her hair all goes well with the look.

    • We aren’t saying soccer moms wear this but that soccer moms almost always wear something that is “comfy” and to us maxis are so comfy that we’d always wear them.

  11. For those of you who actually guessed… some of you were close…

My least favorite was the black and white floral dress (the far left pic)!

The other two I like minus some minor changes… the middle maxi could stand to be an inch or two longer and as far as the dress on the far right goes… I’d much rather prefer a light weight cardi over a shrug or bolero. But I do like ’em.
