At the recent showing of Manish Malhotra’s collection at the FICCI Frames 2009, we spotted the same garish blouse with a different sari.

I actually quite liked the blouse on Deepika. Plus the sari was plain enough that the outfit wasn’t overwhelming.
the runway version is better, deepika looks like a khala jan from the movie Pakeeza

DOn’t like the blouse, but the model and the blue saree are pretty..
see, it works on the model, but not on deepika – I think on the model the neckline works better than on deepika not so much which is a shame cos she is stunning usually.
Lately I’ve been finding a lot of Manish Malhotra’s clothes waaaaaaaay garish…this is no expection.
Gauhar makes the sari work. somehow it looks dowdy on Deepika.
i dont know whats with this blouse. it looks pretty yet awfully tacky. it’s def the neckline!! color and work is gorgeous. it doesn’t look as bad on the model tho!! this is weird=/

Gauhar’s take looks better than Deepika’s. That is the only thing..otherwise both versions look tired and unimaginative.

so much that i had my eye on this really cute dress which happened to be velvet and decided against it
