Sari Style

The saris that these ladies chose to wear to their respective events couldn’t have been more different. While it was another Masaba sari for Mandira, Celina chose a festive yellow one (though a tad ott for us)…

What do you make of their respective appearances? You like?

  1. Mandira looks a bit cartoonish, I’m afraid. Celina – the bridal context (she recently got engaged) – looks quite pretty, albeit a tad mujrawalli-ish. I love the bindi.

  2. i love celina’s sari – it would have looked even better with a simpler blouse. if only she didn’t always look so cold and possessed!! :P

    • Everything I wanted to say! The saree is lovely. I’d love to have that saree – love the colors, the texture ; simple yet good for any social occasion.

  3. Prey tell why is Celina even featured? And if she is then why not with a disclaimer – at the risk of being extremely blunt she always scares me with that OTT makeup and just over all OTT look.

  4. Celina looks nice. Love the orange. She’s one woman that can drape a sari really good & the saris she chooses are different (colors, prints) from the regulars.

  5. Really Celina got engaged? To who? Can you imagine her bridal outfits if this is anything to go on, can’t wait to see those pics! Love the Masaba saree, you can tell them a mile off, they certainly make you stand out from the crowd, so not for the faint-hearted! Celinas looks like a typical Jashn number, not something I’d go for especially with that blouse – but I guess she too has a ‘look’ she can call all her own!

  6. what are these masaba sarees – buy old unsold sarees from any small retail shop, cut them up as you fancy and then sow the pieces from different sarees to create this atrocity, don’t forget to use at least one non floral bedspread as part of the final saree. God! Anything sells in the name of designer label!

  7. Like Celina’s saree — nice festive color. Love the blouse with the sheer, just below the elbow length. However, the makeup as always is so very OTT! Would have preferred no bindi, natural make-up and a nice nude shade on the lips given the bright shades of the attire.
mandira’s saree pallu looks a like a checkered table cloth off the tables of one of the irani cafes.
