On The Fence
We know that Loveleen has quite an eclectic taste when it comes to her clothes but we are on the fence with this. It is an interesting take on ‘ethnic’ and while there’s something interesting about the look, there’s also something missing. Those shoes for one just don’t work but then the colors look lovely on her. Also, if at least one of the two pieces (either the skirt or the blouse, ideally the blouse) was more fitting, it’d give her a better shape.
Didn’t I say we were on the fence with this one…

i think this wld have really worked if she had gone for a fitted singlet style or sleeveless top
i think Loveleen looks lovely .. the green, black and purple looks good together … i agree with P&P in term of shoes , a flat kohlapuri would have looked gr8.
Hmm the skirt is something which a young South Indian girl would wear- kanjivaram silk with zari border- not sure it works on her.
the skirt reminds me of Sabyasachi :)
she looks good from a distance…but I agree, if the shoes were better and the blouse fit more- she would have looked plain fabulous
the whole ensemble is missing shape.. I think a belt (loose or waist tight) would have given some curves!
She is looking so lovely, but I do not like anything about the dress. A more fitted top would have done wonders here.
she’s actually looking v nice – she carries off the look quite well, it comes together for her, u dont always have to wear skimpy tees/singlets to look good
Like the skirt and shirt. As separates. Not together.
Agree with eclat. Usually i’ve seen girls in Kerala/Tamilnadu wearing a shirt over long skirts (not necessarily a silk)!
I love her, she can do no wrong. she could wear a ghagra choli with dominatrix boots and i would be like wow.
I think she carries off the look quite well! I love anything in green—reminds me of cool evenings, a nice breeze, that kind of thing. I disagree with some of the comments above–South Indian skirts can be worn by non-South Indians. Does anyone remember the half saree that Rani wore in the last scene of “Laga Chunari…”, designed by Sabya in bottle green and white? Lovely!
Im leaning more towards a WTHEYYY!!!…. wearing a shirt that 2 of that shiny material (plus its pleated and flared at the bottom) with an ethnic skirt so not happening!!!
and plus her footwear looks like snowboots to me…
Seriously nothing in that outfit is doing anything for me!!!!
I love the skirt, though not with the shirt she’s wearing.
i love the colours, i love her face. and i love that neckpiece.
wish the blouse was slightly fitted!
The ‘shoes’ are juttis guys! a much better idea than kolhapuri chappals methinks. so works for me. And i’m from the south so i like what she’s done. It’s a fusion of rajasthani jewellery and juttis with tamil style skirt….And the black addition makes it contemporary.
Totally agree with Annie.
I think she looks fab mayb not glam! (which is what we often confuse with looking good)
don’t agree re the ‘kanjivaramness’ of the skirt. this s actually a style tat we’ve seen on nandita das before, if i am not mistaken.
but my big problem here is the colour combination! the green and lilac together are refreshing – but the black top (and shoes) puts a a damper on the whole thing! if she had chosen a cream top instead (with maybe a belt or stole to go with) this look wuld be much more complete.
She looks lovely, and I love the green and black combo. But for the shoes, I like it, would have loved it if the skirt was a wee bit shorter.
Oh yea! Fitted shirt would have worked sooo much better
who is loveleen tondon…i saw her @ oscars with the SM team….but what exactly does she do?
co-director of slumdog!
other than the shoes, i like this look on her! its very ‘her’! (though i wouldnt wear it myself).
What I like is how she’s wearing this. It IS an eccentric outfit but her posture and confidence make it look so effortless. Like she’s not trying at all. That’s always a good look.
I love her look, would have left the purple bangles at home. She is beautiful, she looks like an older version of katrina kaif.
You’re rite Rezia. Chck her out in this month’s HI BLITZ! She’s effortessly fashionable….
this boho look doesn’t suit her as it only looks good on teenagers/ college students unfortunately
skirt would have looked better with a loose fitting top and sandals
