What’s In A Name?
We’ve seen plenty of design houses draw inspiration for their collections from India, nothing new about that… But it’s been quite a trend recently to name products after Indian names which don’t really have an immediate coherent connection/co-relation and that often has us shaking our heads in amusement.
Take a look at these La Perla pieces… interesting eh?
L To R: La Perla Manisha Tunic, La Perla Padmaja Kaftan, La Perla Ranja Embellished Maxi, La Perla Riddhi Maxi
L To R: La Perla Saroja Bikini, La Perla Madhu Knot Bikini, La Perla Teja Bikini, La Perla Mohini Knot Bikini
I want the madhu bikini soo bad.
me too, no offense but I’d like mine re-named pls….
I was totally lusting after the Teja bikini on net-a-porter :-)
and I want the Teja bikini!!!!
lol…saroja bikini…
The “Teja Bikini” cracked me up…reminded me of Andaz Apna Apna..”Teja main hoon…mark idhar hai” LOL
hahaha….i know….
LOL, wasn’t Teja always a villain in hindi movies :)
Love the pieces. But is it just me or even you feel that the names don’t go with the clothes at all.
they actually named a bikini, teja ! reminds me of andaaz apna apna! LOL
but all of them are soo delish!
Funny names,, :D
I want Mohini…the one piece I mean….awesome collection but I dont get the names
LOL ‘manisha tunic’
looks like they just did a google search of indian names
for them these indian names evoke a sense of mystery and exoticism.
please can you post the indian celebs at the current canness film festival. thanx
hahaha..funny!
the ‘madhu’ knot, ‘teja’ bikini….HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! so random..
