In Eka
For the screening of her movie at MAMI, Konkona picked a striped sari by Eka. A small bindi, silver jhumkis and a roomy leather satchel rounded out the actor-filmmaker’s look.
She looked lovely. But that said, wish Ms. Sharma had ditched the shoulder bag for a smaller one or even a clutch for a more polished, put together look. It might not be her aesthetic but both the event and her sari called for one here.

Gorge. Somehow I feel like the bag is working. Although it could feel like the wrong choice, somehow I feel like it’s working with the vibe of the event and Konkona’s personality.
I always love her simplicity
She looked lovely :)
Disagree. The bag totally fits in. This is who she is. So much character. Also very 70s. Love it.
I like her and her sense of style. Beautiful makeup.
I like the look and the bag with it.
PnP on this occasion I disagree with you, and feel that women should be allowed to carry any size bag they want…tiny clutch purses make women feel ornamental and helpless. Even phones barely fit in some. :(
I know, right? No pockets on women’s clothing (not as common as on men’s anyway), and bag sizes commented upon. Not happening. +1000 on ornamental and helpless. <3 for your comment.
:)) I love HUGE bags, especially as a toddler’s mom.
Love! She can never go wrong as long as she’s channeling the Kolkata aesthetic. It’s so who she is and she’s totally comfortable.
Love it. She’s making it work, bag and all.
Reminiscent of Tilottama’s look from a few posts back… village social worker.
I love the look. I find it hard to get on board with these high neck, longish sleeved blouses.
I’ve always preferred saris with traditional blouses.
But Konkona sells it to me like nobody’s business.
I guess she took the Jholawala style a little too literally!
I love this 70s vibe. My mom and aunt dressed this way to work and everywhere. So wearable and real.
On a broader note, I find that fashion and utility are often seen as mutually exclusive. Maybe she has stuff to carry in her bag and its utility makes it beautiful.
