Sari Style
For the premiere of her Bengali film Sajarur Kanta, Konkona picked a linen Anavila sari wearing it with a pattern blouse and simple jewellery. Now, we don’t have full-lengths of her but from what we see, wish she’d opted for a smaller potli.
The one she carried was just too big.
Accompanying Konkona at the premiere was mum Aparna wearing a black and white cotton bomkai sari, one that she wore with silver bracelet and a spiked tribal necklace. Can’t say am a fan of the necklace but it sure made the look interesting.

While i like konkana’s saree, i wish her blouse was better fitted. It is kinda tight at the arm hole. Also, the potli is ghastly. LOve aparna sen’s bracelet!
Aparna Sen is wearing a Linen Kolkata (probably Phulia) sari and not a cotton Bomkai.
Imagine Konkana goes for a drastic change and wears a manish malhotra!
Even before i saw her picture i knew she would be in a linen/cotton/handloom saree, not that there is anything wrong with it.
Her bag game is always so baaaad!
Bengali and South Indian women wear Saree the best in my opinion. I love their choices in saree too. They both look lovely.
What’s wrong with the bag? IMO, she looks lovely!
I love Konkona’s saree. Yep the potli is too big, but not ugly, but I’m to look the other way. Mommy doesn’t look bad either.
How refreshing to see an older lady allowing her grey hair to show. Aparna looks fab!
Wow!! A bounty of gorgeousness on the site today…
They both look lovely and so graceful. These are genuinely women of substance, and it shows. Carrying yourself with grace, dignity and self-assurance is the biggest plus for pulling together any look. Couldn’t give two hoots about their “bag game,” or some other contrived “flaw.” Didn’t even notice these, until I read some of the comments.
