As awesome as these two ladies are, some effort on the red carpet would’ve been nice… Especially considering how everyone else at the same event was dressed to the nines! A kurta or a tee paired with denims was just too casual.

  1. Dang. I like KSS *so* much. Would love to see her really dressed up, especially in Indian clothes (a la Aaja Nachle, especially the Laila Majnu portion). She still looks so pretty! <3

  2. I love both the looks, although not for the red carpet. But why is there a red carpet for the nomination announcement? Are they just creating new events?

    • Thanks! It’s cute…she accessorized well too. KSS’s hair/makeup looks good.

Too casual for a red carpet event, but seriously how many red carpet events are there in the hindi film industry? It’s a little ridiculous…

  3. Love Shruti’s outfit – for a day event.

A bit underdressed for an award show. —but I guess it’s okay given she is one of the youngest in the industry…if not THE youngest. Very young people look naively cute doing such stuff at such events (IMHO). Maybe a few years later…might be inappropriate. For now, its probably okay.

But she does carry herself well.

  4. I love how simple yet `put together’ Konkona looks here. Something has to be said about her inner confidence and standing up to a personal sense of style. Why should there be a red carpet stereotype? Whats the fun if fashion too narrows down to particular parameters? where is the fun in that?

    • I think there are many ways that KSS could have stuck to her style, without necessarily being so casual (think Kiran Rao, quirky, personality-filled, yet always aptly stylish). I mean, those jeans are something one would wear on an everyday basis, not to any sort of event. Even if she’d just paired the same kurta with a pair of well cut trousers, it would have still been “her”- not expecting her to turn up in a Bebe mini, after all. She looks “put together” maybe for watching a film with friends, but for an industry party, no!

    • I agree!! I totally forgive her all her kurtis, unironed pyjamas and what not, JUST because she is intelligent, talented, opinionated and a wonderful actresses as opposed to the usual bland cookie-cutter bollywood barbie dolls who can do little more than play demure or gyrate to item songs

    • Agree whole-heartedly! There are too many red-carpet rules governing everything. I am actually glad she wore that stunning black kurta. If only Konkona had chosen different denims! Or a churidar maybe.
