In Lulu & Sky

Another day, another round of movie promotions. This time around, Katrina picked Lulu & Sky to wear. Wavy hair, assorted rings and pair of sneakers rounded the actor’s easy, casual look.

The hairdo could’ve used some changing up but even as I type this, I know that’s a tall order. That aside, Ms. Kaif wears the separates well; she looked nice.

  2. Hi P&P

Can you please stop talking about Katrina’s hair n make up in every post – she loves it – is confident with it – let her be – if she tries something different then it would be too out there for you and you would say she is out of her depth. She has never tried to be a fashionista- Let her be

  3. I think she looks beautiful. Radiant and fresh, despite her oh-so-boring hairstyle not pleasing you. She has found something she likes, feels comfortable in and clearly doesn’t want to change (I am assuming your complaints, for lack of a better word, have reached her or, at the very least, her stylist, considering the readership of this website). So why don’t you give the hair “orders” a break?
Actresses are people, not canvasses for our viewing pleasure. Yes, being a fan of good style, I come to this forum, and want to see what beautiful people are wearing, and also read the tweaks you suggest with considerable interest. But the more compelling reason I come here is that I admire and support your policy of never commenting on a person’s looks and bodies, only their style. Being body positive requires that of all of us. But sometimes, and in the case of this actress, particularly, I am amazed how you don’t seem to realize that this constant demand to “change it up” borders on the same tendency.
I remember that once on this blog some people had started commenting on how Nandita Das should change it up once in a while, and some other people had responded that it didn’t matter what she wore because of her fabulous work. Your eloquent reply to that was something I strongly agreed with. While I, too, am a huge fan of Nandita Das’s work as well as her style, including that she sticks to what she has found works well, but that doesn’t mean that all the other people who like to change it up are frivolous or that their work doesn’t matter. If you agreed with it then, why, I don’t understand, do you keep insisting that other people change it up if they seem to like what they have going? Does the principle of being comfortable in one’s own skin, and by extension, a few signature things, like hairstyles, apply only to serious filmmakers? Or those who wear traditional outfits like Nandita Das does? Once again, I am a huge admirer of both of those things in Nandita Das, but I believe, even more strongly, that the things we ask of our female celebrities in the name of “good style” reflect a lot of things about who we are as a people. Because that’s where most of our beauty standards and expectations from women come together in a wonderful microcosm. Your blog and the two people who own it, are beauty and fashion-influencers, which is why you should examine your own “wishes” for female celebrities, more carefully.

I know this went a little too long, but I had to say this. Thanks for reading.

  4. Katrina looks nice. I have never seen her do tacky or trashy looks. Like C mentioned(and I have said it earlier too), such kind of lenience say “why should someone change it up” , “xyz doesnt care about fashion” & strict moderate policy is applicable only for certain filmakers/actors. Katrina, Sonam and many others get all kinds of unmoderated comments. P&P are probably afraid of the hypocritical commentors mob who will verbally lynch them, so they have started to give in and add in comments as such. Ha!

  5. Give the girl some credits, I think she’s making some efforts these days to dress up nicely, love the look on her. Also, I think Katrina likes to carry a much minimalistic style, as I mostly see her in tees and pants. Maybe she’s that kind of people who like to shine more with their personality rather than clothing. But that being said I love Sonam’s sense of style too.
