I love Good earth stuff but feel really kanjoos buying their stuff for such astronomical prices. A curtain (not a pair)I love costs 9k!
They r generally expensive.. even their home decor stuff is way heavy priced. Sustainable fashion is not economical =p let’s stay synthetic =/
In the interest of the general public. Sustainable fashion is not expensive. Places like goodearth keep huge margins for themselves. It’s not that the weaver or the artisan gets any richer when you buy one curtain for 9k. It’s the price they ask for having a beautiful shop in South bombay and to sustain their own standards of what they believe they deserve in terms of remuneration for their work. And perhaps some design /curation effort. Our economic system is very convoluted. (I sense me going into a ranty space now, I will desist.)
This is a good rant, if any! Sustainable ‘designer’ fashion is slowly getting overrated in India.
