Sari Style

Besides the Sabyasachi sari, Kangana was seen wearing two other saris at the event (or perhaps after), one a yellow Raw Mango and the other, a Benarasi gold one by Neeta Lulla.

I really hope the gold sari is salvageable after that dip in the Ganga. It is too pretty to go to waste. :(

  1. All the looks are so beautiful!! Love the yellow! Even the jewelry is all lust worthy! I actually liked her jewelry in yellow sari in first pic, looks like she switched it out. The gold sari looks pre-stitched?

  3. So natural and beautiful! Love both the sarees. I’m not complaining about the severe middle parting too. Love the natural makeup in the yellow saree!

  4. I wish the pallu for the golden sari was well draped especially for an auspicious dip in the Ganga. On an aside she looks so beautiful in the yellow sari just wish the hair wasnt so severe.

  5. this hairstyle suits her the best, other actresses look aged with this kind of look.

She looks so awesome, look her dressing style. So natural, so pretty !

  6. Drooloworthy sari and jewelry.
She wears her saris well. The length of the blouse and the sleeves don’t make the pallu look indecent during the dip.

  7. All the jewelry for a dip in a holy river! All the planning in putting together a ‘look’ for a bath.

I am not judging her individually. In fact she is a smart woman who is probably playing this to her advantage – power to her! But the state of our Hindi movie PR machinery is really quite remarkable. Imagine what they might do for the actual promotions or the premier?

    • People believe they should look their best when it’s an auspicious event. Be it a wedding, puja or a visit to the temple, you see people down south in their best attire. They say when you’re going to the temple, you need to wear all good things.

      • No no, my comment is not whether she should dress up for a puja or an auspicious event. If she feels like it, she should dress up to cook rajma!

My comment relates to the PR machinery of the movies these days. Anything and everything is a PR event. An auspicious event is also a PR event. I am not saying whether that is a good thing or a bad thing. I am just saying that it might be a slippery slope from hereon.

  8. Beautiful.

Love the unexpected grey-green blouse with the yellow saree, and the way she had the blouse tailored for the gold saree. Both sarees were draped suitably, with perfect jewelry and styling.

  9. She carries sari with such panache. Love both the looks, the contrasting blouses and jewellery look delish. For once, don’t mind the middle part, she wears it well.

  10. So elegant in yellow. She looks lovely. Jewellery is perfect & doesn’t look overdone. Love her in that dull golden saree too!

  11. My only issue is with the material of the saree. Nothing can beat the charm of silk sarees but in summers n that too in UP, big no-no! Can’t even imagine wearing silk in that part of the country!
