In Balmain For H&M

Comment image 34

Kangana Ranaut attended a little kids annual day function today wearing a Balmain for H&M biker jacket with striped pants and a striped shirt, both also from the collaboration.

Now, if this was a rock concert or even a fashion-related one, I would totally be on-board with the choice because Ms. Ranaut looked good, but this is a children’s event and here is a star who didn’t even remove her shades throughout. :P How does a child even relate to that, I wonder.

Am I the only one who thinks this was a completely wrong choice for the event in question?

Update: Kangana also attended the Mumbai Film Festival wearing the same outfit except she wore her hair in a top knot. The knot we loved, but the open jacket exposing the stripe on stripe look, not so much.

  1. LOLOLOLOL. Those poor kids. I’ll bet they are traumatized for life :-)

It’s her childish way of showing off that she isn’t bound by convention. Wear a nurse’s outfit to an international women’s conference, and a biker-chick-gone-wrong outfit to a school. SMDH.

    • Haha… I knew Kangana was heading this way long back. No event appropriateness, every time looking angry or serious without a smile, thinking it’s cool. Again sunglasses everywhere thinking it’s cool. But it is totally uncool and rather irritating. That dress is totally rofl worthy.

      • I can even tolerate the dress… but the attitude? the 24 X 7 fierce model expression? that is so made-up and seems to be trying too hard…

Saw this post right after Dia Mirza’s sweet one…

        • Yeah forgetting to smile and laugh is the most unfortunate thing in the world, no matter how much money you have. If I am angry or serious for even 5 minutes I get a headache.
I donno how she maintains her angry expression 24/7 and 365 days. Yes Dia Mirza’s pic took me to fairy land and out of this world.

    • Totally. It always feels like she missed out doing fun quirky things- dressing up while younger and she is trying to make it all happen now. Too bad for her, all these looks are so friggin’ idiotic.

  2. If female Micheal Jackson were in prison, this is how she’d look.
Ridiculous outfit aside, this is highly inappropriate for a school function.
And sunglasses really shouldn’t be worn at certain places like churches/ temples, while addressing kids at a school.. it’s just disrespectful and so not cool.

  3. This is very odd! Considering Kangana usually chooses wisely, and wears clothes that are fashionable but event appropriate. Certainly, the event calls for something softer and feminine. Besides, the event inappropriateness I just don’t like this look on her…

  4. I hope some back benches booed her. I would have if I was at the event. Seriously though this whole high fashion thing seems overused by Bollywood. It’s not just access to high fashion, can someone also give them access to lessons on event appropriate dressing. Time and again we see stars embarrass themselves and those around them with ridiculous and inappropriate outfits. Those kids are emotionally scarred for life.

  5. Halloween theme day?? totally ridiculous. I guess they try hard to be stars and dressing like this may be makes them feel exclusive.. sounds messed up right?? Poor kids. wish them a speedy recovery.. or may be they can grown up and laugh at this experience in their lives.

  6. Are you sure this wasn’t for some kind of Halloween themed function? Finding it a little hard to believe that she would wear something like this for a kid’s function for any other reason.

  7. there’s no excuse for dressing up like this to a school event even if she was attending to MAMI after this. we’ve seen her change costumes by the minute before – hopping from one event to another. just very inappropriate and irresponsible of her. esp. if she claims about being such a thoughtful, independent and strong individual in her interviews (what with the publicity about rejecting fairness ads and all).

  8. Wow, serious misstep for both events. The annual day, don’t get me started on but even for the film festival, this looks downright stupid. No other word sorry Kangana, you know you can do better than this!

  9. This is a bad look no matter what the event. No one (except a sell-out band member) would dress like this to a rock concert. This outfit does not stay “Stick it to the man” in any way and that is what rock n roll is about.
