In Nedret Taciroglu

Comment image 56

If we asked you to spell drama would you say Kangana? Don’t blame you. After tackling the Sixties with her Breakfast at Tiffany’s inspired look (movie, not the book), Kangana took on the Seventies in her Nedret Taciroglu fully embellished jumpsuit. Big hair and de Grisogono jewels rounded out the actor’s look perfectly.

Don’t care for how the beading/embellishment falls over the crotch, there’s no way to un-see it. Bit of a downer that. That aside, there’s no two ways about it… Ms. Ranaut owned it head to toe.

So y’all think Kangana is going to take on the Eighties next?

    • This girl is on fire ………

      HOW-SHE-ROCKS-THAT-JUMPSUIT!

That crotch is meant to stir reactions – by design.

now I need to get it out of my system….

    • Yeah…in a carpet full of gowns, Kangana threw a curveball..actually a discoball ! She went the whole hog..no compromises. The girl is all about risk. Fashion on point or not … luv her for being ballsy

  2. Wowza! Her hair are the sole drama-bringing element themselves. She is literally dazzling and I guess we could not have asked for MORE drama. Cannes has seen sarees, dramatic gowns, even lehengas and what not from the Indian entourage… but this time around, the ladies (DP and Kangana both) are unexpectedly cutting a dash in their jumpsuits/suits. I am, at this moment, feeling proud that they both have represented India so well at Cannes 2018! You go girls!!!!!!

  5. As fierce as her hair is, I am not in love with the look. She is trying her darndest to sell it but it doesn’t work for me. I absolutely applaud her effort though.

    • Agree. I do give Kangana props for trying something so different and with sheer boldness and flair that only she can bring on the red carpet. But the poor construction of this jumpsuit puts this in the league of “when bad clothes happen to good people” for me. I totally hate her team for selecting this outfit.

    • Not just pose.. a person like Kangana turning up in such “clothes” is definitely not her. Wearing such crap which you wouldn’t wear even in Bollywood… Who is she letting her style like this.

  6. I’m loving this appearance, edgy and fierce! Kangana does not half-ass anything and that is what saves this look. I like that she broke the stereotype by wearing a jumpsuit/catsuit (Marion Cotillard and Araya Hargate too) but a part of me wishes she chose a different outfit. There are more pictures of her from the red carpet and girlfriend’s totally killing it in those frames. Overall, I loved Kangana’s style game as a debutante at Cannes and really proud of her (and DP’s Elie Saab look too). Would love to see Kangana at Cannes again but definitely with better representation – more professional team/management and better brands.

  7. Ugh I’m such a fan but this is so disappointing
I understand taking risks but this is screaming try hard unfortunately
And sadly this was the outfit that she’ll be remembered by since it got captured on the red carpet
    Not that incredible Sabyasachi

  8. I love that she is going all out on the Cannes red carpet. By no means is this a conventional or expected of Cannes look. I love this, very Diane Ross meet J Lo done. Bravo.

  9. Don’t know where my previous comment went. Major props to Kangana for venturing beyond gowns and dresses at Cannes. I love this this look but the jumpsuit is poorly designed. She totally hit it out of the ball park in her previous appearances and would love to see more of her at Cannes!!

  10. LOVE IT !!!.. and I am not even a fan of her work/personal shenangians ..
    HOT and beyond..!!
and, I think that crotch fit is meant to be like that, very like Kim K’s outfits, where the crotch/bum areas are designed to pull attention.

  12. I wish it had a better fit instead of the bell bottoms- like a cigarette pant fit would have made this more elegant but retaining the drama from the embellishment and the bust area.

  13. You hhc people ate biased. You have probmem with everyone. Your only work is to find you that if he or she dresses well. Thats all.. Bt u have problem with everything. Thats not good.. I m following this blog from bangladesh. And for many years. Your job is to look the costumes.. Not the event… Or with event want they are wearing.. You guyzz are super biased.

  14. Well the fact is Getty missed her appearance altogether on her debut where she looked beautiful but with this look, she isn’t giving them much to bother to photograph her again. There is trying something different and there is this tack fest, so many things are wrong with it and the posing/lack of smile is just making it worse.
She and her team screwed up here on epic levels. Painful reading the comments on the international sites when we know she can do way better.

  16. I’m sorry but I honestly want to know .. was the theme 80’s ? Coz if it’s not then this is soooooo bad !
I don’t expect anyone to walk the red carpet this way
She looked good but not event appropriate
Not every one make it to Cannes .. if u made it then u shud stand out

  17. This is actually an 80’s look, big hair and disco dancer vibes. 70’s are more toned down and polished.

I don’t care for this one much but major props for her guts to experiment this hugely.

  18. Ugliest ever, reading all the supporting comments make me remember that story “ Raja nanga hai” ..
OTT, trying too hard and I feel so bad when none of our Indian representatives on international platform to take an initiative to represent India and its crafts and textiles abd fashion.

  19. A classic example of what pressure can do. All her appearance back home are so point on, with an attitude to match ( not to forget the airport looks) . However the same failed to replicate on an international platform. An opportunity lost.

  20. Kangana, you redefine fashion for me and for a lot of girls like me because you own what you wear. You don’t need a dramatic dress to show your attitude and your personality. Your confidence and your oomph is what sets you apart – and you have the hard work backing you. For being the real Queen and such an inspiring one at that – Thank you :)

    • So this is not a dramatic one! Then what else could be more tackiest, cheap and bakwaas.
Kangana usually never disappoints but here also she’s a queen of downers.

      • Zoya, we are more than just what we wear. I was referring to the fact that Kangana’s attitude towards life and her choices are what set her apart from others.

  22. The empress new clothes.. i find that kangna’s “edgy” style is a myth. Much ado about nothing much. Not liking the look, the styling, pout, swag, and attitude. She gives off a combative, discordant vibe.

  23. Surprised that people like this. It is not about the outfit per se. Remeber KR is one amongst many celebs there, and to me it looks way too much like the outfits of starlets who descend on Cannes in outre costumes to grab eyeballs. Expected KR to have more class.

  24. This is beyond tacky and embarrassing. There’s confidence and then there is being a try-hard. The attitude is a put-off and looks extremely wannabe-ish. The outfit is garish and hardly event-appropriate. In a bid to look “different” she comes across as a someone who heavily curates her appearances. Hardly effortless. Such a shame ’cause I though shed kill it.

  25. for a palate-cleanse, I went and googled up “Nandita Das cannes” – sigh, how elegant and classy she looked. Her presence was about her as an actor, not her as a mannequin for the most outlandish outfits
