Kajol and Shah Rukh on Vogue India: (Un)Covered

Comment image 73

You’ll have to wait a tad bit longer to see these two on-screen but if you can’t wait, then the October issue of Vogue India is your next bet. Although, I am not digging the Blumarine gown, it is a delight to see these two together. Do you feel the chemistry?

P.S. Shah Rukh is the first man to appear on a Vogue India cover and is wearing D&G. Thanks ‘khadija’ for the tip-off bout the jacket.

  1. why does srk have such a nasty expression? that expression kills the cover for me. kajol looks gorgeous…i like some of the inside pictures more.

  2. The gown that Kajal is wearing is alright, I don’t like what they made Shahrukh wear. Leaving your buttons open like that just does’nt look nice.

  3. Has SRK done something to his face?? Look at his eyes! Kajol’s looking nice though the hair could have been much better and yeah the chemistry is full on

Personally, I LOVE Kajol in this- she just pierces you through but Sharukh is a bit…filmy?

  7. seriously they look sooooo HOT together, no other couple has that!!!
They even have a huge 10-15 years age gap, but still look amazing! Personally I think age gap is good, prefer older men! ;) but some people act like its a “no-chemistry” thing, they are sooooo wrong!

She looks great in the gown, not something I would like to see in a party, but for a mag its nice.

  8. SRK-KAJOL look AMAZING!!! i like the gown she’s in.. suits her complexion.. although her hair is another story. any ideas on what shahrukh is wearing? the jacket especially?

  9. I could be in a minority here but the cover just does not work for me. From the dress Kajol’s wearing to SRK’s military/chef inspired jacket. Both these outfits are cleary meant for younger people. N what’s with their expressions??? It could have worked if they were smiling not trying to give smoldering looks. It looks like Kajol’s angry at the stylist or something.
To the ppl at Vogue India, GET CREATIVE!!!!!! Don’t just keep putting bollywood stars on the cover n wait for ppl to OOH n AAH. Its not working no more.

      • That smirk on SRK’s face reminds me of waxed- chested wannabes in muscle tees, pushing for better service at the bar… and I’ve always thought Kajol’s charm and electricity lie in her smile, so why have they made her out like some angry school principal?!

  10. Gosh I’ve said it before but i’ll say it again and again and again… and again ;).. Shah Rukh exuded unparalleled charisma.

“Shah Rukh is the first man to appear on a Vogue India cover.” – As should be… who else can being what he does to the table.

    • When these two are on the cover of Vogue no sane person acknowledges the clothes, the people in the clothes are so over-powering. They are fashionable.. forget the clothes.

      Reply
      • Sorry, i dont feel so over powered by either. I dont feel so over powered by their clothes either.
There is no chemistry what so ever. It looks like a picture of Kajol and a picture of Shah Rukh was morphed together.
I agree they both look good together usually. But certianly not on this cover.
Lets just not go by general idea and just comment on the cover and fashion. what say?

        • The comment ‘fashionable’ was in the context of personality not the clothing. Personality makes the overall impression and the clothes are a means to the end result – the impact of a personality. The commentary above was instant impulse, mine being noticing the people in the clothes rather than the clothes or the impact of the cover.

As for keeping general commentary out, fashion is an accessory not the subject. The subject is the person. The topics are two sides of the same coin. The comments overlap, as they are bound to.

  11. Okay I love them as a couple to bits but why o why do they look soo…umm…for lack of a better word…. severe??

But I guess wooohooo is in order that they are back together after what seems like forever so.. *woohoooo* !! :D

  12. Why are Vogue India’s photographers SO SO bad? Do they not have lighting experts, *fashion* experts in house??
Kajol’s awesome dress looks so washed out on the cover vs. on the ramp! And why is SRK wearing the most FUGLY Dad jeans here? Why is his shirt unbuttoned so deep – it makes him look exceedingly tasteless.
I’m totally upset with this cover and with Vogue. They just made this look like a Stardust cover from 1986. How can they make the two hottest, most photogenic people in Bollywood look so…’meh’?

  13. Scorn much for an anniversary cover? SRK’s jacket wears him than the other way around [and the smirk, the cleavage are just wrong], but Kads more than makes up for all the weird choices.

  14. aww… i love them sooo much!!! :) SRK looks edible!!love his hair…! dont really like kajol’s look.. she looks awesome with some lose curls or volume in her hair.. and the dress is very blah!

  15. WOW WOW WOW!! they looks amazing together..i am especially loving SRK here not that much Kajol..but together they are just MAGICAL..beyond clothes, beyond all criticism they are the most charismatic pair ever.

  16. its no surprise that the editor of vogue india is anaita shroff who started out as a stylist in movies like kuch kuch hota hai and later went on to movies like dil chahta hai and a lot of karan johar movies …. no wonder the cover and copies of vogue india are becoming very filmy which is ok as long as they feature stylish movie stars …. but more often than not the bollywood stars no nothing about fashion … case in point this issue of vogue … i am a huge kajol fan … hence i like to see her in the movies …. if she has to be on the cover of vogue … we definitely need to have a genius of of stylist helping her out ditto with srk … also srk is ageing and it shows …. and i agree with most of u he looks more filmy than kajol….. notice another thing ? how kajol looks like tanuja in this cover especially the wrinkles below her eyes …. it is so tanuja …. ah …. guess genetics as a science is easily verifiable :)

  17. I’m a die-hard Kajol-SRK fan, but this cover does nothing for me. Don’t like the expressions on either of their faces, I can’t seem to see beyond that to the clothes… They make such an awesome pair onscreen, but the chemistry is just wasted here…

  18. The comments for this cover alone shows that people here comment based on how much they like the person. Just because its Kajol and Shah Rukh, its all great?? Seriously!!
Arent we here to talk about fashion, invariable of who is portraying it?

  19. I don’t like the cover. Yes, I like Kajol & SRK on-screen. But here, it’s not working. That “scowl” or whatever on SRKs face… his ewww clothes.. nothing works. Not even the photoshop works this time!
Kajol looks nice… I like the gown for a cover; but again, there’s that expression of distaste.
I’m sure this cover could have been much much better.

  20. This is so disappointing – what terrible photography! I think SRK’s face has been flipped back to front and looks totally weird. The positioning of the two is weird too – if you’re trying to project romance and chemistry, why have Kajol towering over you, glowering and looking so dominant(… and damn scary?!) What’s with the expressions?

Vogue India has let the brand down with this horrible photo.

  21. why oh why does Kajol after allll these years STILL have that monobrow. She finally glammed up over the years but there’s nothing wrong with a little wax or thread or EVEN bleach.
Am i the only one that this bugs?

    Reply
    • I hear ya…I have wondered that every single time!
I saw her with no make up ( and the monobrow )in SF when she and SRK were shooting for my name is khan… uggghhhh

  22. For a second I thought Shahrukh was posing with Tanuja! Tanuja is beautiful but it is not a compliment when you look the same age as your mother in a picture. Shahrukh Khan’s male-cleavage is gross.

  23. I think that she is rocking the Blumarine gown. I do not think much of SRK’s band-bajaana coat but ooof, he looks too irresistible and too too cute. I wish that they had put some colour on Kajol’s lips since they always do a nude on her…I am willing to bet that Micky C did the makeup!

  24. Anything relating to srk and kajol sure is a treat for me as for the cover yes it surely could have been better, love kajol’s smoky eyes not the hair though srk is pretty ok but on the whole ‘THE WHOLE POWER OF 2″ sure seems to work and i guess the 2 of them are enough to sell the magazine off the shelf…surely they are the on screen IT couple with oozing chemistry!

  25. Doesn’t it look like they’ve photoshopped SRK’s face onto the body.. Honestly!!! Rubbish photoshop!!! they’ve obviously tried to give him a leaner face but bah!!

  26. Why would Vogue come out with a Filmfare kind of cover esp for their second anniversary issue (or ever!)?? this is not good for fashion! :( Not liking a bit…there is no chemistry between them…they are not with each other at all and whats with that expression Shahrukh? Vogue covers are getting disappointing! :( though i can do with the Blumarine gown on Kajol, Shahrukh’s jacket is super sad!
