Kajol At Berlin Film Festival: A First Look

Comment image 91

Let me first begin by saying that I think Kajol looks so good neck up. I love the hair and the kundan earrings but the green Manish Malhotra is such a downer. The green and pink instead of making her stand out on the red carpet, wash her out.

  3. I rarely disagree wid U P&P.. But i think Kajol is looking smashing overall. n the Green n Pink combination is so refreshing. Inspite being the dirtiest of all pink shades.. dis one is working for her. She is Glowing!!! M so glad dat she did not make it a drab at the red carpet :) Even Shah Rukh luks Hot..

  5. How fabulous would Kajol look in Sabyasachi-esque earth tones and neutrals? Ad natural fabrics for a change. Such a gorgeous woman. Sigh…
Also, why doesn’t Karan Johar give her fashion advice/style her? He’s pretty spiffy himself and his collection was quite good.

  6. I actually like what she’s wearing. I’m no Kajol fan when it comes to her dressing up or her looks but even i’ll admit that it’s a nice outfit altogether.
Only the one thing that keeps bugging me….Kajol!!!! Get an eyebrow wax once and for all girl!!! The frida look is out!

  7. there is no way she can be considered stylish when she breaks one of the numero uno style rules on a daily basis… UNIBROW!
YUCKKK… does this woman not have close friends to tell her that her unibrow is NOT cute?

  8. OMG…i dislike the way all 3 of them are looking. even SRK, as much as i love him, fails to impress with his velvety outfit. Kajol’s foundation is totally mismatched and make up is off and that color scheme’s doing nothing for her on the red carpet. her neck looks too bare & chest looks unsupported. sad, coz I love SRK and Kajol.

    • same… i dont like any of them here!

kajol has way too much foundation on. her hair de-glamourizes her. her outfit is actually in the ugliest colors possible. wish she hadnt even gone for the event!

srk..his velvet vest doesnt go with the shiny fabric of the other vest underneath (or are they attached?) dont like his black bordered white shirt either. a classic suit would have looked so much better (like what abhishek wears or anil kapoor at the oscars)..

karan.. needs to shave! needs to stop pouting! needs to burn that suit!

  9. im loving she wore an indian attire for abroad premiere! i think she shud have stuck with the red and black..nevertheless, the color combo of pink, olive green, grey n gold is making her look modern! traditional colors may not be well taken. and neutrals on such a confident n gorgeous personality will only make her look washed out. love the kundan earrings.
we have seen a lot of greens and purples for sag awards and gold and grey for grammys..

  10. Her face is so gorgeous. Seriously, she has one of the prettiest faces I’ve ever seen. And, okay, I don’t know why we keep talking about the unibrow. Clearly she has some specific reason for not wanting to wax it; it’s not just a beauty faux pas.

I don’t mind the outfit, but it’s nothing fabulous, either. As for the footwear, it is definitely an improvement, but I still don’t like that particular pair. That’s just a personal preference, though. What I do love are the earrings! So pretty. I want me a pair. And I do like that she pulled back the hair here.

Shahrukh looks pretty good, but Karan looks a little tired. Not that I blame him in the least. All the controversy surrounding the film had to wear him out a bit.

  11. oh my god my eyes hurt, so much going on in the dress. I wonder why no one wears Anamkia Khanna collections. Her designs/ colors are so much better. I am tired of seeing everyone in same old MM clothes

  12. For such a big movie, WHY WOULD YOU DRESS LIKE THAT? If MM doesn’t know how to churn out good clothes, what’s wrong with Kjo and Kajol that they are picking THIS????

  13. She would look amazing in a Sabyasachi…….I love her hair and earrings. Shoes are an improvement but why doesn’t she invest in one or two pairs of designer shoes. I’ve never understood the unibrow thing……she has such a beautiful face.

  14. omg… how could she… agree completely that face up she is gorgeous.. and just love her earrings.. but the dress and its not even the green and pink combi thats the spoilsport.. but its the cut and all that jazz in it… its just so much a courtesan look….. really she can do with something better…

  15. She’s stunning… looking gorgeous.. after ages she carries off an outfit beautifully… The outfit is not fab, but she makes it look great.. washed out is not aterm I will use for her in these photos

  16. interesting sleeve detail with the dupatta…makes perfect sense for a self-proclaimed ‘klutz’ like Kajol that she’d have the dupatta sewn into a sleeve … one less thing to worry about.

Having said that, what an awful outfit. Whats wrong with a nice clean Western silouhette once in a while, Kajol?

  17. why would someone choose such an outfit.. this one makes her look like she’s all set to attend a wedding rather walk on the red carpet.. if she really wanted to go indian, she shoudve worn a lesser blingy saree instead.. frankly im bored seeing kajol wear the same type of anarkalis each and every time infact im bored of anarkalis.. feel they are too passe and overdone now

  18. I disagree !! i think she looks gorgeous ..! i dont think the color washes her out if anything it makes her standout. i love it and want one. where can i buy this suit ?

  19. I was at the premier yesterday and I can tell you this the outfit was not flattering at all for Kajol it made her look very wide and it was ill fitting, color totally washed her out as P&P mentiond, she (or her stylist) could have done much better. What surprised me Kajol seemed like she had never been infront of cameras she seemed uncomfortable, maybe cause of her dress……also I didn’t like what Shahrukh was wearing, he’s so small and skinny lolz……anyway it was a nice movie!

  20. People, the sleeves of that kurta are VELVET! :( And check out the ghastly embellishment on the side of the sleeves…it looks like those cheap arm-bands the warriors wore in that 80s Mahabharat production.

I can go on and on; there are so many things wrong with this outfit. It is so garish and Ekta-Kaporish.

  23. I think she looks lovely, and if this was the first time I had seen a MM creation on a star (like the peeps at berlin would most probably have) I would thing, how glam, indian and lovely!!

Its just for us HHC lovers, we see someone in a similar outfit everyday! lol

Still its similar to ash’s one and this is the best MM design. His other stuff is worse that kajol wore before.

  24. You apparently hate Manish Malhotra for some reason and is just taking it out on his designs. Considering almost all top celebrities wear his designs and that also on important occasions his designs must be better than many and even though I dont like all his designs but I do like most of them. You need to get over your hate towards him. You may clarify yourself that you dont have anything personal against the designer but the way you keep criticizing his work all the time with a very condescending tone it would be hard to believe. Of course publishing this comment or not publishing is your department. You seem to have some favorites and irrespective of what over the top junk they wear you like it and then you have some of those you dont like and irrespective of how well dressed they are you call it a downer.

    • Totally agree with you Sid! You guys cannot deny that Manish Malhotra’s designs are fab. Sabyasachi’s stuff looks bland on a red carpet with camera’s flashing. The type of color combinations used here are fabulous and is in sync with traditional indian ethnic wear. What were you guys expecting, an anarkali designed by Alexander McQueen?! Come off it people! In the business of bollywood, actresses do not wear outfits that don’t suit them, just for friends!

      • hear, hear!

Most of MM’s designs are something I would stifle a giggle over if I saw a person wearing them in real life. His designs are something that will date so terribly just like those crazy 80s outfits people used to wear.

If you told me she bought the outfit from a random tailor on the street I would seriously believe that so can there please be some distinction between ‘designer’ and street because honestly the street is churning out beauties compared to this.

*Can you tell I’m EXTREMELY disappointed*

I completely disagree. Your comment seems contrived and devoid of any logic. Simply because some actresses in Bollywood always wear his designs all the time (and only some, not all) does not mean that ‘he must be good’ and ‘better than many’. Again, if we are ‘hateful’ in judging that his designs are not good, you can also not judge that his design are better than many! And boy, wouldn’t it be good if you were specific who is he ‘better’ than (only Neeta Lulla comes to my mind, but that is not the point, is it? )… I mean, come on, just looking at this pukey green and pink mess!
And BTW, what’s with SRK’s weird pose and KJO’s 3 day stubble? Very 2005!

        • I agree just because some big shot bollywood heroines wear his creation does not mean he can get away with his garish design aesthetics. Hell all the top heroines of the 80s used to wear horrendous clothes and makeup. Did that make those trends any less ghastly? Remember Rekha post makeover in Khoon Bhari Maang.

    • well, “TOP CELEBRITIES” like you said (I shudder at the word) wear his designs because they have NO FASHION SENSE. Have you ever seen Kajol dressing up at events? with chappals, or ill fitted suits or landing up at big events in jeans? clearly she doesnt understand fashion, doesnt have even basic innate sense of style and could care less to imbibe it.

I really dont understand people going gaga over this look by Kajol, that shade of green reminds me of phlegm/mucus after a sickening bout of cold and that purple is exactly the shade of a rotten eggplant. The silhoutte is totally wrong for her, making her look like a bloated MESS from head to toe, her makeup is too cakey and her unibrow went out of fashion before I was born, not to mention that ghastly arm band and that patckwork reflecting the paparazzi lights like crazy. the only way her outfit would appeal to me is if the photograph was in Black n White. phew, im in pain!

and its not only PnP, a lot of us (me included) wouldnt be caught dead wearing a MM design

  25. The dress may not be my first pick, but Kajol is looking glorious here. I like the way the dupatta has been draped.
Kudos to her for wearing an Indian outfit (too cold to wear a saree I think).
And for people saying enough of the Frida Kahlo unibrow look – you guys would have said the same thing to Frida Kahlo too. Kajol has her unique look, and has done great in the film industry on her own terms.

  26. Yeah I have to agree, this is a lovely look. I would wear the outfit in a heartbeat and she couldnt have looked better. It does seem as though you guys always hate on Indian outfits. Growing up and living in the US, I love wearing Indian outfits when I get the chance. And I love seeing our desi celebs rocking them as well.

  27. i think the outfit would have worked if he had used completely different colours. shahrukh looks sooo hot and scrumptious. i wish i could kidnap kajol and thread her eyebrows. i can’t believe karan johar hasn’t done something about it.
