Lovely In Lavender

At entrepreneur Vineet Mittal’s wedding reception, Jiah Khan made an appearance in a lavender sari. The color looked so good on her that we were ready to forgive the big hair. You love?

  1. I beg to differ. The color is my absolute favorite but it REALLY clashes with her tan skin and dark hair. The sari itself is very unflattering. she’s a pretty girl, but her clothes choices is almost always wrong.

  2. I dont like AT ALL! Besides, is it only me or is something seriously wrong with her skin?
For some reason, she looks like an aging starlet in this outfit.

  3. Agree with K. I love the color but do not like the saree much. Feel an elegant diamond necklace or drop-down earrings would have looked good with this look. Do not like her hair or makeup. Prefer the dressing style of the lady in white.

  4. I see fake tan written all over her skin…..but, she looks ok I guess…don’t particularly like how the saree is draped…..or the excuse for a blouse that she’s wearing

  5. well no…I can’t forgive the hair
quote the other way around actually, the hair ruins the looks
I DO think that this has a lot to do with bad photo quality but the makeup (and the saree actually) look baaad too

  6. I dont think that color goes on tan skin. That colour though looks absolutely lovely on fairer skin tones,
    also her makeup is bad..

  7. I tend to agree with the ladies above, the color itself is real nice, but NOT on her skin tone and that makeup. she looks ashy, oily, old and washed out. thumbs down!

  9. WOW finally she cut her hair and give it some style, about her tan, she has to sue the salon because it looks uneven and way too dark for her

  10. don’t think so…she looks terrible, the lavender color although lovely clashes with her dusky skin and the blouse is sooo ill-fitting, looks llike it is falling off her shoulders rather than it is actually meant to look that way

  11. Tinu – the lady next to her is her Mother- Rabya… it seems she (the mum) has lost a lot of weight recently..

Anyway – i think the sari looks elegant and classy – it’s light and flowy and perfect for a wedding reception – give the girl a break people!

  12. Like sometimes I dont care for what the person is wearing, when Aishwarya, Genelia, Amrita Rao, are wearing whatever I dont care because they always manage to look great same goes for Karishma Kapoor, similarly here I dont care here how the person looks because I am not able to take eyes away from the Sari.

  13. Ok so this has nothing to do with the posts, but I wanted to see some pics of Sonia Gandhi also, do you have some, I love her collection of saris.

  15. What???!!! How can people NOT like the colour on her skin tone?! That’s so odd.. I think it looks soo delicious on her skin, I love the colour! On a fairer person it would just look washed out, there wouldn’t be any contrast. I think yellow would look great on her as well! I agree I think the hair looks a little bit odd, the makeup looks fine (I’m sure she would look great in person), and I love her body as well. Normally not a fan of Jiah but really love this look. I’m so going to get a spray tan! For real :) On a side note.. has any other fair skinned brown girl (think isha koppikar not kareena kapoor fair) gotten a spray tan before?

  16. @ Sharin – I also LOVE her skin tone! The tan looks great on her skin, and I think you should definitely go for a spray tan! I myself have never gotten one, but I love how they give skin a healthy glow :) Just a tip before going spray tanning – don’t go over board or else you’ll end up looking orange!

  18. All these comments about skin colour and the saree colour are disturbing…and take me back to all my Indian relatives who tell me I should only wear neutrals because I’m dark skinned. I refuse and wear bright red, rani pink and it suits me better than beige!

I think the colour itself is stunning on her but she looks a bit too young for the saree…like a teenager dressed up for a wedding.

  19. I love lavender…and I think it looks gorgeous on her!!

@ Such – I agree with you, there is no reason to ditch bright colors just coz one is dark skinned. I think bright colors look beautiful on dark skin compared to safe neutrals. I wonder why this myth of neutral for dark skin is still alive – why doesn’t anyone take tips from dark skinned celebs such as Naomi Campbell, Rihanna, Bipasha Basu, Kajol etc??

  20. This is off-topic actually..
@Such .. I am with you on this one.. I think the bright “Indian” colors suit the dark skin more than the fairer skin .. I LOVE red on dusky complexion…whereas the neutrals..they work great on fairer skin tones.. thats just an opinion.. may be it comes across as opposite in snaps..

  21. @ Sharin hehe definitely let me know how it goes ;) OOO another thing i forgot to add, have you ever tried Jergen’s Natural Glow Lotion? I’ve been using that for the last couple of months and it gives you a glowing tan..i love that stuff cuz it works great on brown skin. :)

  22. I think she looks oily because of the heat which caused her to perspire. But she does look good in the sari…the colr suits her….the blouse is a huge letdown though.
