In Sukriti & Aakriti

At promotions for Dhadak in Jaipur, Janhvi was seen in a Sukriti and Aakriti floor-length anarkali, a variation of which you’ll remember seeing on Sonam just a few weeks earlier.

While she looked sweet, can’t say I liked the anarkali itself.

  1. Following in her cousin’s footsteps, she’s wearing a foundation five shades lighter than her actual skin tone. When will we Indians embrace our beautiful brown skin color ranging from caramel to delicious chocolate!

    • Well, she is much lighter than her cousin. I don’t think that Janhvi’s foundation is mismatched but you are right in that her make up advice should definitely not come from Sonam.

      • Yes, but most of us are shades of brown. I’m a medium to lighter skin Indian, but it’s still considered brown compared to the universal idea of light skinned and I’m proud of my Indian compexion!

        • if u are saying that all indian s come in different shades of brown that is completely wrong[or u havent seen enough indians],there are all sorts of complexions in india, like jhanvi my face is is fair but my arms are darker ,and i dont use makeup ,but i would have defnitely preferred an even complexion fair or brown,

  2. O I think her makeup is perfect and I love that white anarkali. Only those colored lines/seams on anarkali’s kalis (panels) are bothering me.
Also, I think her simple sweet looks for dhadak promotions are, I think, intentional and aligning to her looks in movie.

    • Agreed. Her body color tone looks the same throughout. Dont think anything is wrong with the foundation. Embrace the skin – should be called out on people like Kajol, Richa, Rani & others. Lol.

      • Kajol,Richa,Rani – hmmm, cherry picking the ones on the heavier side leaving out lil Ms.Sonam who is known to get her foundation wrong almost all the time. Typical…

  3. She actually reminds me of Sonam’s debut looks during her promotions for Saawariya. And just like her cousin, she’s wearing a lot of anarkalis and traditional and sweet, girl-next-door looks. Pretty!

  4. Nope .. not liking one bit.
Her looks are reminiscent of the 90’s.
Even if she wants to be in line with her character from the movie and do sweet..girl-next-door looks..there are so may different ways to do it.
These looks do her no favor!

  5. Nothing wrong with the foundation shade, but the amount of it on her face makes it look cakey.. wish she would go more natural on the make up.. would elevate the looks significantly

  6. I am so underwhelmed by her styling and looks during Dhadak promotions. I expected young, fresh looks… I find her styling and makeup heavy-handed. She looks older than her age in most promo event pictures… Its a pity that young, 20 year olds want to look older, while the older actresses try younger looks!!!

  7. The promotion looks are as bland as the trailer for the movie.

Need to watch/rewatch Sairat instead of vehicles and publicity for star kids

  8. She’s a beautiful girl. But unfortunately, her recent sartorial choices aren’t that flattering on her. She really needs to work on it. Sonam’s kurta, on the other hand, looks easy breezy. Janhvi will, with the right styling, look hot!

  9. The anarkali is pretty, simple and non fussy. A definite improvement from the MM ones.. Make up does look a little pastey for her natural skin tone( neck etc) Would be great to see her in a loose wavy hairstyle too, or a messy bun.

  10. Jahnvi looks pretty but I got instantly reminded of Samantha’s mehendi look..Both of their outfits and hairdo looks eerily similar.
