On An Aside: An Ode To Swarovski

Comment image 21

Harpers Bazaar India has a spread with six designers paying homage to the Swarovski crystal and how it has influenced their design. We spotted Manish wear his blue kurta again for the editorial but what’s freaking us out is why only Bal channeled his inner ‘Joker’ while others were photographed as is.

You can check out the whole spread featuring the six designers here.

  1. humm they ruin the Joker from Dark Night by portrying him here, the actor who played the role of Joker, his name scaped my mind at the moment, has died and this basically ruins his very last rule in his very last film..i

  2. Harpers Bazaar India usually does a pretty good job, and this is fabulous
I love that it’s models and designers, I don’t being a film actress immediately makes you editorial material artiscitally (though economically, we see what happens)
….but why jokerface Mr. Bal? It makes you come off as a bit unoriginal
    Manish is awesome as always

  4. Very well done ! I really really liked this spread ! I love the fact that though there are beautiful women in stunning clothes and flamboyant sets …the men stand out. Their personalities stand out. Somehow my eyes were drawn to them first ! My fav were Shantanu & Nikhil & Tarun Tahiliani .

  5. Sunit Verma “In the wedding market, Swarovski has replaced Zardosi, and that’s a huge feat.”

True, but am I the only one who finds it a little sad as well?

  6. I love the spread…but some of the designer seriously look idiotic modelling for the shoot- JJ Vallya for exampe, he designs gorgeous clothes (well, sometimes anyway) the concept of the photo itself is great, but he just doesnt pull it off and fit in.
I loved Suneet Verma especially. And yes, Bahl looks crazy

  8. I think the entire thing was fab… couldn’t figure out the Shantanu and Nikhil outfit much… The model for Manish Arora looked great, JJ Vallya himself looked a bit awkward perhaps, was shocked by how Tarun Tahillaini looked in the sherwani, the model for Rohit Bal looked pretty, Rohit Bal himself yuck.. if he were aiming to pull of the ‘joker’ then he failed

  9. W.O.W seriously fabulous spread. I love the whole exotic-mystic-luxe feel of it. And yes Rohit Bal is kind of…startling here. But I love what his model is wearing and I love, love, love Suneet Verma’s and Manish Arora’s and Shantanu-Nihkil’s spread.

    Sexy, glamorous and original
