Screening Style

Gauri was photographed in cotton separates (Eka?) at a recent movie screening. Wearing ’em with silver oxfords, the filmmaker finished out her look with a cross-body bag and a navy stole in hand. Like her laid-back style at the movies? We sure do!

  1. She looks like a homeless person. In India anybody can call themselves a “de-jy-ner” thanks to you guys P&P :P

There is this look from Gauri Shinde and then the look of our dear friend Aish for Kalyan Jewelers that models and “walks away WITHOUT KNOWING how the photo shoot will be “used” (Give me a BREAK!!!)according to her publicists

With a starved African American half naked boy holding an umbrella over diva’s head. Promoting RACISM and SLAVERY. Good for her!! and all other “hi-fashion” enthusiasts dont you think?

I mean what could be wrong with Aish being made to look “WHITE-ER” and a slave boy holding an umbrella her ghaghra was made from slave labor ermm… sorry from precious stones I bet :p

    • We still use maids & servants predominantly in India. All the small stores, tea shops all have kids working. The child labor is mind mindbogglingly high in India. Starving kids, beggars on the streets everyday , I wonder what these people who hue & cry do about it all. What about Kajol and others promoting fairness creams while we are talking about racism-colors. The content could be wrong on those posters but stop with this blame game. The whole of India will be held responsible not just her for promoting dark is bad.

      • Seriously? Your argument is that there’s nothing wrong in portraying child slavery (in a glorified, royal manner) in an ad because it’s rampant in India and that we shouldn’t take offence because it’s a common practice? By that logic glorifying rape in glossy ads too shouldn’t be problematic and offensive because it’s so prevalent in India? And your logic that Ash and Kalyan Jewellers shouldn’t be blamed because others do it too is also seriously worrying. This “chalta hai” attitude because everyone is doing it is very, very dangerous. Child slavery and racism are serious issues and if icons and role models don’t take their responsibility seriously then it’s sad and worrying. It’s not a blame game, it’s a message to people to take their responsibilities as a netizen of this country seriously. It must start somewhere, and start with influential, role-models.

  2. I love the look. Everything about it. Why should a person with substance dress like an actress? Why can’t she be laid back chic?

  3. Haha! This is laid back supreme. I mean it’s almost like clothes you wear at home lounging in the weekend and which you would change if somebody knocks on the door ;)
