A Fab Freida!

Freida Pinto, a Mumbai based model, also appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of her first movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.

Her model days probably influenced her a bit in choosing this dress for the premiere and she sure didn’t disappoint. Love the complete outfit and love her makeup too. Considering her movie is creating quite a buzz at the festival, I am sure we will see more of Freida in the coming months in many more fabulous outfits.

Check out more of Freida here.!

  1. I don’t quite see what’s to love in this outfit. The dress seems to be made of that cheap garbage bag material…and to top it off she forgot something called a steam iron exists… I wonder why Aishwarya and Gul Panag got the rap for wearing wrinkles and not this girl. Interesting!

  2. I don’t think it’s all that great either. So wrinkled, is that strap supposed to be falling off her shoulder, ugly shoes, and whats with that fringe on the bottom of the dress. Not loving the clutch either. Love her hair though and she is so pretty.

  3. Exactlyyy..!! The minute I saw the pic, I was asking to myself “Why isn’t she being hauled up for the creases?”
    Shoes must go.
Side swept bang seems wrong.. like it doesn’t really exist but has been created without a scissor. If you know what I mean :)

  4. Looks like I am the only one struck by her. ;) Anyhoo, being that this is her first premiere event and not her umpteenth, she has done well. I missed clarifying that!

  5. When I first saw the pic all I could think was “WOW that is one pretty girl”!! I don’t mind the dress so much except for the hem-fringe, though she definitely could have opted for better shoes and clutch.

  6. I like the dress – good construction. The second strap that is falling is a little weird but the dress is nice and young. Little different but not too different that it looks strange. Yes, needs steam ironing.

  7. i agree with maya that she looks like she’s wearing a garbage bag with a bow. however she is absolutely gorgeous and much prettier than most of the bollywood crowd.

  8. She is pretty. But the dress is beyond fugly – the bow, the strap, the material, the poor construction, etc. It looks very cheap and tacky.

I hope she does better next time.

  9. C’mon payal, give us a break!! That dress is hideous. Wtf? That’s a combination of the bipasha/sophie ruched bebe top + gauri khan’s ridiculous tulip shaped silver satiny D$G which gives people a fake tummy+ the weirdass blue dress priyanka chopra wore in yesterday or the day before’s posts with the gayass straps and unsightly weird pull on one side + a bra strap gone wrong + a bad bad bad knock off of valentino’s bows. Even valentino shoes have perfect bows. Her shoes are ill fitting, ugly and weird too. The front part is too short. BLAH! Bad choice for a thumbs up! She’s pretty and could do way better at a frikkin international Film festival.

  10. if this was her first appearance at a major event..then she should have wore something that catches attention… this outfit just makes her forgettable.. not a great career move…

  11. very pretty girl in an OK dress. i think i like the concept of the dress it just looks a little wrinkled. but she is very naturally beautiful..and it is her first appearance, so it can be forgiven.

  12. I agree with Maya, it looks like a garbage bag assembled with random bits of string. But she’s such a stunning girl, no one is really looking at the dress. I also agree with those who’ve said that she’s like a breath of fresh, non-red-hair-dyed, plastic-surgeried, air in the Bollywood scene.

  13. Freida seems to have done a brilliant job, considering this is her first appearance on screen. More so than that the look, puts her (as an indian) on a global platform. Im sure we will see a lot of Freida in the future. And did anyone hear that the film won the Toronto Film Festival Award for best picture. This girl cleans up very well. As far as the garbage bag comments go, I do not agree at all. And yes she does pull off the turn around look brilliantly. Kudos to Freida.
