Freida Pinto At Palm Springs: A First Look

Update: Freida is wearing RM by Roland Mouret and the clutch is a Sergio Rossi. While, we didn’t find her dress on the runway, here is a variation of it from the Pre-Fall 2008 collection.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Freida attended the Palm Springs International Film Festival awards in a blue one-shouldered dress with some gold-toned satin slingbacks. While, the color of dress was great on her dusky skin, the colors of the clutch and shoes just didn’t gel with the dress.

P.S. Congratulations to her for winning the Breakthrough Performance Award and thanks ‘Ashwini’ for the news tipoff!

  1. Priscilla,
Hah! You are right. They are more gold toned! I should be sleeping! I assumed the clutch and the shoes were the same color…

  2. this is a muted gold.. a more brighter gold would have given this dress the zing.. but how great does she look.. she really is a simple looker!!and what a great one!

  3. I love this color. It’s my fav. My closet is full of clothes with shades of this blue. Freida looks fabulous!! I love this girl!! The gold contrast is not bad…I think white might look too much on her dusky skin.

  4. wow.. she does look good!!!amazing confidence
Payal.. white peeptoes would make this whole do very ordinary and less glam, me thinks! i would prefer bronze :)

  6. Hmmm, the way she dresses it always seems to me that she might have a stylist, but well she can be stylish herself so I dunno, LOL :P
P.S. i love her look, white would have looked AWESOME, but gold does’nt look bad at all, her accesories are good so the colour don’t matter much I guess:D

  8. Really, just madly in love with the dress… the color of her clutch works with the blue but something about the shoes are amiss, but it’s excusable. Go Freidaaa

  9. I think the gold looks great with the dress. You’d usually do silver with that tone of blue but that wouldnt go with her dusky self. So good job with knowing what looks best on you.

  10. i think she looks fantastic! i love the dress and the color is lovely..i think the accessories actually work in this case because everything is so simple..and even though it’s gold, it’s not blingy gold..here is a girl that is a true fashionista!

  11. She is absolutely stunning! The dress is so simple yet beautiful.
The accessories make the whole look very understated but maybe that’s what she wanted!

  12. She look s STUNNING!
@ Payal: I think blue with white is the obvious combination and would’ve been a bit much. This is fresh!
@Preeti: exactly what I was thinking too. Why is she getting so much publicity…why don’t we see more of Dev Patel !?

  13. @Sushi: Though it’s unfair, I think the reason behind her getting more attention than Dev Patel is simply because she’s so gorgeous and elegant. In media, people would easily pay more attention to the better-looking people. Dev is cute but she is gorgeous.

  14. I think once the big awards come (Golden Globes, Academy Awards) she and Dev will appear together, and get equal attention. :p

And she might have a stystlist, but I prefer to think she knows how to do it on her own, haha.

  15. Ritu/Sushi,
I think they both are in the limelight except we feature her more than Dev. E.g. Dev was on Letterman while Freida was only backstage, an example of where Dev got more publicity. But, the main thing is this wasn’t Dev’s first movie and Freida was at Palms for receiving an award for Breakthrough (meaning best Debut)….
Of course, ain’t complaining at all about seeing her more! ;)

  16. oh really? oh ok didn’t know that (about Letterman etc.)

Yeah and as for HHC in particular I certainly understand why Freida gets more attention. She’s a girl! and girl’s fashion is always WAY more interesting ;)

  18. love it! I agree with Adi – she looked even more fab on Jay Leno with a pink dress and black pumps.. who designs her clothes I wonder! I thought she was awesome on Leno.. very comfortable with herself and her background and very giddy in a fun way!

  19. She is always such a Doll! I don’t mind the shoes on her this time but totally hate the dress she wore on Jay Leno! Pink with a big bow-UGH!

  20. @Payal: I agree….for a moment I forgot HHC is one website i check very often:) I tht i missed her part in the letterman show…had no idea she was only backstage, . Didn’t quite like the barbie-esque dress she wore on Jay leno but she was confident

  21. She totally wowed on the Jay Leno show. She was smart, fun and not stuck up with a great sense of humor. She had fellow guest Robin Williams eating out of her hand.

This is a great look. Her stylist did great as always.

  22. She is talented, well-spoken, smart, non-giggly, non-fake accent, naturally bronzed and cute-as-a-button. Who cares about the clothes (which are pretty darn good and age & body-appropriate)?
